Television Breaking Bad

this is just an epic fail. You should watch the show through from the beginning and avoid this thread (for spoilers, obv)

Word. You'd have no appreciation for overall the character development for every character nor would you have an understanding of the White/Schrader family dynamic. Also you would not fully comprehend Walt and Jesse's relationship or appreciate the development of their partnership.

I just started re-watching the series on Netflix about a week ago. It had been a long time since I'd seen season 1 and since I've been so into the show lately I'd figure I'd go through the seasons again. The first season is only 7 episodes, but it's crucial in setting up the series. Not to mention that if you start out in season 2, you're starting out with Walt and Jesse having been kidnapped by Tuco. You're jumping right into the middle of a story line. If you're enjoying season 2 then you should really stop and go back and start with season 1. You'll enjoy season 2 a lot more since you'll be more aware of what's going on in the show.

Maybe she didnt have access to season 1. What does it matter if she started on season 2 anyways?

People can do as they wish, but to me it seems logical and progressive to start at season 1 to understand the relationships and characters a little more is all. Fuck, start at season 5 for all I care.

There are certain shows that you can jump right in and start watching without missing too much from the back-story. Breaking Bad isn't one of those shows though IMO, especially since it is slow paced and the various characters all have their own back-stories and relationships. Also the development of the characters is a big part of the show, so seeing their transformation from beginning to end makes the show better and can only be done if you watch the complete series.

Right. What do people not get? I mean what if I started watching Dexter in season 3, get real, it's not bad, but first two seasons are epic television. Breaking Bad rocks and I can't wait for the finale, any crazy predictions?

I have some guesses:

-Todd is going to turn against Walt or Jesse. See the ending of the scene where he was learning how to cook? Thera was just something strange about his voice and his face. Besides he always looked like a traitor and a dangerous person to me (yes, since the very first scene in the Vamanos pest)

-I think there is gonna be harm coming to Flynn's way. Walter harmed two young people before (Jane, Brock), it would be like Karma.

-Someone pointed out that Walt is going to be fucked without Mike, that he cant do well on the crime world. I dont think this is exactly so. In the beginning of S05E01, future scene, Walt looked pretty savvy, not 'green' anymore.

-Saul is the one in the series who is gonna do the most well in the end. I think he will dodge any harm coming his way. He is just too competent.

-The DEA and Hank is not going to know about Walt until very close to the end.

Some more thoughts:

I agree with people who are thinking someone's going to attempt or successfully commit suicide.

I think it's reasonable to believe that Marie will try to permanently get Holly away from Skyler & possibly Walt too. Skyler may try to kill herself at that point. Alternatively, if Marie is successful it would give Walt a reason to kill her.

I agree that it's plausible that Hank would somehow find reason to try to off himself too based on the foreshadowing: the detective committing suicide on the movie Mike was watching and Hank's gesture of a gun firing at his head. Though it seems like the show is pointing you in this direction I can't imagine a scenario where he'd want to commit suicide unless Marie is killed.

Also, I think we now know why Todd has those prison connections for the show - they're going to use them in order to try to off Mike's 9 inmates.

These guesses are probably all wrong though. =D
