Brazillian waxing

Has anyone tried Veet down there? I wanna try it tonight because I dont have time to go wax before heading down to florida tomorrow but Id rather shave temporarily if it will burn my skin or something there. :)

^No, but the Veet Rasera works on my legs. As long as you don't get it close to the most sensitive bits or go in the pool for about 24 hours after, you should be fine unless you have an allergy.

I'm having another wax in about 3 weeks after my next period is over, I have only gotten fine, light regrowth and nothing outside the bikini line. I'm going to @lterego's recommended salon next time. I'll let everyone know how it goes. I think I can go about 7-8 weeks in general... not bad.

Witch hazel and baby powder have prevented ingrowns so far.

Sadly I am leaving my waxer of 3 years. I moved 35 minutes away and am uninterested in making the trek. I am seeing someone new this Saturday. I am nervous all over again. I did check out this day spa. They have a decent rep and I like the environment. I am happy with their manicures and pedicures.

Taking 2 ibuprofens and (if you have it) a very small dose of a benzo is the best thing you can do, IMO. . .

Good advice! I always take 2 x nurofen + before I go and it always helps and it doesn't usually hurt that much anyhow

I also havn't had any of that pre-wax cream either hrmm..

For me a woman without pubic hairs has a pedophilic touch I don´t like. But I am european so never mind.

How much do people usually tip for a brazilian bikini wax? I've been tipping around $5, but is that a little low? I think it costs somewhere around $60 where I go.

Also, what do people do for the pain? I tried taking ibuprofen but it really didn't seem to help at all. I've considered either drinking before I go or taking xanax. Unfortantly, I don't have access to any prescription pain meds that might actually work...Is there any creams or anything you can buy?

I tip 20% for all my services. I am surprised that your waxer still does a good job after you tip her $5 on $60 for a brazilian. I appreciate the work and skill it takes to keep me feeling pretty. You should show that in your tip.. If you are happy then express that with cash and a thank you.

Getting waxed a week following my period helped immensely with any discomfort. Never pain. No analgesics required for me.

I could handle being waxed a week prior to my period. It was that way for 2 years, I think (until I screwed up the cycle of my birth control pills).

I recently changed day spas. Tonight I met Jen. Last time I had Helene. After inspection at home, she left some hair here and there. I was late so I tipped her 20% to apologize for my tardiness.

Jen is MUCH better and quicker than anyone I have ever been to. We talked, laughed, and had some things in common besides a front row seat to my vagina. The time flew by.

The end result I scour over at home. I look perfect. Not a hair left. I am not sore AND there are NO remnant pieces of wax, cream or powder.

I have found my new waxer (the only thing she does at this spa) and it did not take long at all. Whew.

I love my waxer. We do an at home thing where she comes out once a month and a bunch of us get stuff done. It's nice plus she gets all the money so no tipping is involved.

Question- What is the proper ettiquete in this situation. I leave for vacation on thursday morning, my waxing is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon however my lady friend decided to pay me a visit! Having it gone for vacation- good, having it ending wednesday-bad. My guy says go anyways and take a shower right before and wear a tampon...I say thats gross and I should cancel and maybe get waxed within the first day or two of arriving to the beach but, who knows how they do it down there :( What is your suggestion? What do girls do when they get their period around their waxing appts?!

Call her and ask. My waxer does not mind. I checked as I had a similar situation. I was stressed out as I would never do that. Come in with a tampon. Take it out in the ladies at her spa and get on with the wax.

I did a search and I couldnt find what I was looking for, if it this has been talked about feel free to point it out to me :)

I got a Brazillian for the first time this afternoon. I have always shaved but I decided to finally take the pain and try the waxing. Well I love the way it looks BUT it stings and has a hot heat sensation. She said it will go away in a few hours and it was more painful than it would be if i got it done regularly just because since I shave the hair grows in more coarse whereas when regularly waxed it thins but not to worry and just ignore it till tonight.

I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on the immedate, I hate stinging pain..Id rather have shooting constant hard pain lol. Its driving me crazy!

Also, she said most women's right side hurts more than the left...anyone know why this is?
we dont believe you, take a picture

My girl shaves. She seems to have very thick coarse hair because even after shaving when we have sex and she rubs herself on me Im in pain. If she wax's will it feel better ?

Well I called her today to reschedule for tomorrow and told her why. So now she knows..I dont know if I can tuck the string in, I have a huge fear about a tampon getting stuck inside of me :(

utranceme- It definitely will! As the hair grows in after waxing it is more sparse and much softer. My guy shaves and I hate when its two days after because I get rubbed from his stubblies.

I always worry that they will rip my piercing out with the wax. Ouch! Constantly reminding them cos there would be blood everywhere if that happened.

I've been getting them regulary lately and they have started to hurt less. Still REALLY hurts though :( but i'm not going back to shaving

I am GLAD I am not a woman, but let me say "Thank You" for the effort women go to. What a treat for your boyfriend / husband.:)

And what a treat it is for the girlfriend when the guy gets his done... ;) (speaking from experience)

Since i started waxing i will never look back. Though my boyfriend wants to get himself done - i am not sure i want him going through such pain (yes i am such a mum) as the first time is verrrrry painful in my opinion.

I prefer guys nicely trimmed rather than bald anyways.
