I'm thinking about going to Brazil at the end of next year and wanted to start thinking about where to go. Basic idea is to go to Rio for a few days and then spend the rest of my time at a place like Trancoso and/or Florianopolis. Does anyone know anything about the scene there? I'm not planning to run through a favela or anything but didn't know if there was an Ibiza-lite type vibe in any of these places. Is it safe to ask around for stuff or am I taking my life in my hands? I'd like to hit some of the clubs - it sounds like a pretty cool party scene in both Trancoso and Florianopolis, but really can't find any more information than that. Any help/suggestions?
 
Just a reminder guys please refrain from making this a step by step guide on how to cop. There is plenty of other things to talk about like the quality of drugs and safety issues.

I don't know the first thing about Brazil man but, be safe down there. A good friend of mine is from Brazil and he says shit can get crazy real fast down there man.

Yes, the main purpose of my post is about safety and to find out about the clubs, parties, etc. in Trancoso and Florianopolis. They sound like a great time, but all travel articles make places sound like the best...
 
The people I know that have traveled to Brazil have all told me not to go around trying to cold-cop, asking for shit on the streets can immediately mark you as a...well...as a mark. Apparently parties are really easy to find around there though, and the locals are really friendly, they said usually you'll at least get offered some weed, if not some high-quality local blow. I sampled a bit one friend had smuggled back, and had to agree that the powder from down under was phenomenal.
 
I haven't been to Brazil, but many friends have. This is not a guide on how to cop As the above poster said, if done wrong people start marking you and things may get complicated. Same happens in Colombia, Argentina, or here, Mexico.
