    Welcome Guest!

Brain zaps...

Yeah if I've been up for 30 hours or more and had too many pills i will get those. Feels like the synapses misfiring. Brain requesting sleep!

bahahahahahaha!

I call them brain zaps also and I thought I was the only one!

When I was coming off of Paxil, I would get brain zaps about 7 or 8 times every hour for weeks.
It was a nightmare.

Good to know I am not the only one that "zaps".
;)

This used to happen to me when I was a heavy mdma user. I haven't dropped in months and these brain zaps have totally diminished.

I only ever got brain zaps when i'd take massive amounts of pills, like 20+ a day.

Or when ever i went on benders.

Thank fully my zaps have gone. They pretty much cut down on Thursday night and then came Friday, they stoped completely. So im glad they have stopped and gave me some peace. But in future I will just cut down on the amount of pills I have in a night. Otherwise im just asking for trouble...

Wow - this is so very enlightening... I have been having these brain ZAPs for years... When I am in the dream state - semi awake - I hear this loud buzzing noise and then I can hear people talking or shouting... somtimes I can make out what they are saying and I even recognise voices belonging to family members.... my head goes all stiff and I can't snap my self out of the dream atate or wake myself. Lately they have been fairly regular since I started using Effexor 4 weeks ago... before that only every now and again... It scares me butmore annoys me because I can hear myself screaming out for help and yet I know that noone can hear me. Then I wake up and curse my head for putting me through that. The last couple of times I have felt like i was being dragged out of myself.... hmmm... flipping weird..... but thanks for this thread - now i know what the hell has been happening to me... :)

Yes I get brain zaps as well when I'm just about to fall asleep. They're annoying and somewhat freaky, but I've gotten somewhat used to them and I don't panic over them anymore. They usually happen for about a week after I've taken a hallucinogen, or sometimes because of uppers.

A friend of mine who doesn't do drugs, but is on ritalin for ADD, gets them as well, sometimes when he's merely just 'zoning out' while daydreaming.

I call 'em brain flashes and get 'em after a heavy weekend, usually when I've done two straight days / nights and lots of the little fellas ! They pass after a few days

My mate got them for the first time when we were in Ibiza last year - really freaked him out and he stopped doing pills for quite a long time. But he's back on 'em again.

They're a minor inconvenience for getting mangled !

If it's worth doing, it's worth doing BADLY !

I am getting this too, right now, and it's bad:!

But the perculiar thing is that I am also getting them in my feet and in my thighs. I have a pins and needles thing going on below the waist! Not good for sleeping at all! And ya, I'm fine when I get up, but as the day progresses it gets worse.

I am admittedly an absuer of MDMA (being going hard every 1-2 weeks for a good 8 months), but this is my first week with the electricity.

I am abstaining from booze right now, so I cannot just numb it all away.

Anyone else get the shocks elsewhere?

I had my first weekend long binge a week or 2 ago...two days after I stopped consuming, I smoked weed for the first time in about a month and a half (I smoked almost everyday for the past 7 years)...

Has anybody gotten the effect from really good weed where your head feels likes it's a bobble head, kinda just wobbling around?? (usually only happens if you are sitting down and you don't have your head resting against something)...well when I wouldn't rest my head against something, it felt like my head was detatching from my body and I was getting massive electrical jolts through my head and whole body....

I quickly decided not to smoke weed anymore after that however I still had lingering electrical shocks through my whole body...the weed made it effect my head a lot more but I still had those shocks across my whole body for about 2 days more. Once I got a few good nights sleep and ate well, I was back to normal but that did kinda freak me out...I knew it was just cause of all the abuse my body took over the weekend so I figured I'd be okay but damn that's an uncomfortable feeling....

I always get the pins and needles feeling for a day after I roll but have never experienced those electrical shocks through my body before...oh well, I'm okay now and will just avoid consuming mass amounts of pills over a weekend...just stick to the one night at a time.
