Ha. He's pretty recognizable with that beard. Both he and his bro were nice. And cuties. We became friends on FB after meeting- how was Cards Aginst Humanity? Social media is terrifying.

(I almost went to go see her with the ATL Collective with Adron to play Paul McCartney's album RAM...yikes)

wow this is kind of scary??? i mean, the only people really active in this thread are the Atlantans, and i'm not even friends with that guy on Facebook! jesus internet. uhm, Cards against humanity was great, i lost.

Jesse's new band opened up for richie ramone at smiths last night. jesses band was better. richie ramone was how you would picture a washed up punk drummer trying to relive his youth.....awful. i dominated the pool table downstairs and closed the bar down with a bunch of 22 year old chicks. i'm so old and disgutsting.

I have yet to traipse up to the Goat Farm, but seeing as how the Talking Heads' Speaking in Tongues is going to be "covered"(?) by Reptar and some others, maybe it's high time that I do.

Reptar covering Speaking in Tongues you say? hmm.. Trying to imagine what that would be like aside from pretty fucking hip.

Can't quite put my finger on it, but I find nothing appealing about Arctic Monkeys. I thought it was the try-hard name at first, but Fleet Foxes get me wet, so that can't be it.

.

in other news, just pulled the trigger on hard working americans, febrary 20th at the variety. i think ya'll would dig these guys.

quick piece here on them: http://www.usatoday.com/story/popcandy/2014/01/22/hard-working-americans/4775017/

but if you have 8 minutes, listen to the NPR segment: http://www.npr.org/2014/01/23/26523...mericans-songs-for-the-ordinary-joe?ft=1&f=13

the new album is great. love the idea behind it and hope they start writing their own material.

this was the best show i've seen in some time. they're in the process of writing their own material and are going to come out with another album. i really hope this band sticks. they played so damn good together.

saw robert randolph and the family band on sunday.

man, that guy can jam like fucken hendrix. nothing short of a religious experience.

I thought this was next week.

So, I missed the Hurray for the Riff Raff show on Saturday 3/1(sold out). I thought I'd catch the New Madrid show, instead. Turns out is was Friday. Ha. I'm an idiot.

Someone plz remind me about the DumDum Girls on 3/20.

Christ on a cracker.

This was one of the best shows I've ever seen in my life. It was so fucking good. Hello Ocho and Reptar fucking killed it, all this energy in my body! It was wild and incredible. Ugh Hello Ocho is so good. and Reptar was amazing! It was like a holy experience, you know? All that chanting. And the speaking in tongues. UGH so good. It was so good. Pander took some videos which are amazing but still cannot capture how amazing and warm and communal and happy it was. And instagram doesn't let you upload more than 15 seconds. FUCK it was so goooood.

Can I post about this again?

I don't care I'm going to post about it again. I finally tried to fall asleep somewhere around 3am, I posted that first post at like 2, and couldn't stay asleep past 6am. I felt this wild feeling, and my dreams were bright and fierce. I've been dancing all morning and the sun is so bright and shining. I must sound like I'm having a manic episode. It was just so incredible! And I felt all these really gay feelings. Like I was watching my friends do something so fun and happy and so cool, and I felt all this youthful exuberance about the future that I'm sure was the opposite of the feeling in 1983. It was thrilling and I just felt so in love with everything. Basically I was stone cold sober but I felt like I was rolling my fucking face off. All I could do was dance and sing and just feel so full of all this emotion. It was so fucking good. I'll be high off this feeling for days.
