Going to see Corin Tucker tonight at a real small venue. I am listening to her solo stuff for the first time. Should be a good time. There are so many shows tonight in Boston it's not even fair but I promised a lady I'd go with her to this one. I liked Sleater Kinney well enough so I am willing to give this a go.

Cool. I'm not really feeling The Corin Tucker Band, but I was/am a big Sleater-Kinney fan. You into Wild Flag by any chance?.

I have a few potentially awesome shows coming up. I'll be seeing Shannon Wright support Scrawl next month, then Juliana Hatfield & Evan Dando, and Cat Power in December. I can't wait.

ryan bingham was awesome. he has a new band, and it's more edgy and rockin than before.

kinda hipster country at times. new band has a chick on bass and a black dude on drums. really good guitarist.

i think i like this line up better than when dead horses were backing him.

this is the fourth time i've "heard" about swans. am i missing something?
swans last album, entitled the seer, is one of the most stunning things i've heard in years. their music is certainly an acquired taste, but i literally don't know of another band that sounds even remotely like them.

Grails at northcote social club

Anyone go to this gig last night?
Really awesome psychedelic instrumental rock band. Kinda like a mogwai / pelican/ Godspeed you black emporer baby. Very cool indeed:)

Wasn't there, but I've seen them before and hung out with them. I find it hard to call them "post rock" because there's just something slightly uniquely different in their sound.

Check out Zak Riles solo stuff too if you haven't, he's the dude on the 12-string most of the time.

Yeah he's cool as well. Zak is more in the same vein as Grails though imo.

Off to see Passion Pit right now. Not the biggest fan in the world but they're enjoyable, interested in seeing what kind of energy they bring at a live event.

Meh. They aren't as good live as they are on record =/ All ages crowd didn't help, everyone was just talking the entire time in the crowd.

Now Dr. Dog is coming up in 2 week :)

Dr. Dog are soooooo good live - they really know how to put on an energetic show. They came to town last week and I got really drunk and made an absolute fool of myself.

Probably the highlight of my year.

Haha, nice.
They're actually going to be playing or Orlando & in Tampa so I'm still contemplating getting tickets to the Tampa show as well.
I do love them so, afterall.

I might go see Primus on the night before all hallow's eve
I've seen Les numerous times with his many different band of incarnations, but I never got a chance to just see Primus, so it should be pretty suck worthy I think

Oh plus the venue is the Taft theater in Cinci, which is an awesome place
I remember going on field trips there as a kid, seeing stage plays of Homer's Iliad and Odyssey and The Fall of the House of Usher and stuff like that
