dude, the fuck? THE FUCK. they aren't coming anywhere legitimately close to me! god fuck my life, fuck bands who only tour NYC Chicago Seattle1!!!! fuck you killing joke, you suck.

i'm sour.

^ I'd be willing to bet you're pretty sour most of the time anyway
On account of your nubian-mulatto descent, I wouldn't mind though but just please tell me you have an accent comparable to this fine young black woman since you're from the 9th ward or whatever :]

Having seen A Silver Mt Zion 3 times live, and Godpseed only once live. I believe I prefer ASMZ. That's when it comes to live gigs though.

Jeff Mangum for me in 10 days.

That's interesting you say you dig asmz's shows more than Godspeeds, I would have totally thought the opposite
But whatevs they're both still kewl in my book

Also that's pretty fucking god tier /mu/core shit of you right there, that you're seeing Jeff
Is it gonna be just an acoustic solo set or does he have a band backing him?

Because I'm pretty sure he actually hasn't played a show with Neutral Milk in a long time...

no ma'am, that shorty is from the 3rd ward, and i'm technically from the north shore, besides my few years in the 7th. at my mother's insistence i took phonetics for 10 years, so i have no accent what so ever, except for on a few words, which people tell me is more of a new england accent than southern. wash = warsh, a slight lilt at the end of some of my words which sounds almost british, auntie= OnTee, etc. i speak the queen's, ya heard?

& yeah, i'm pretty sour most of the time anyway. i'm a petulant little brat.

planning on going to Quintron & Miss Pussycat for my birthday this year, hollaback.

I never got to see Godspeed in their prime though. I went to see them after their hiatus, once they realized people like them and are willing to pay money to see them finally. It was far too packed and the sound quality wasn't so swell. The music felt forced. I wasn't sure if they wanted to be doing it, or if they were just capitalizing on their name. ASMZ shows have less attendees and are normally in small enough venues for it to feel somewhat intimate. That plus when they're touring its to support a new album, so they're an active band still at least. ( I still don't know how I truly feel about the new Godspeed album)
I wish Mike Moya would put out a new Hrsta album already.
First time I ever saw ASMZ was in Philadelphia in the basement of a Unitarian Church. Before they started playing Efrim introduced them to the crowd and said "So we're playing tonight in the basement of a church, which sorta feels like wearing your older brothers tuxedo to prom." lol

I ought to invest in a Pabst shirt or Pabst trucker hat before I go to see Jeff. But yeah, it's gonna be just a bearded Mangum with a guitar. I bought balcony tickets so that I can watch down upon God's hipsters as they sing Two Headed Boy word for word.
I don't know how I feel about the whole thing. I sure wish he had continued to make music and tour all these years that he lived under that rock. I almost get the same vibe I got from the Godspeed show. As in, we made music over a decade ago and barely anyone cared, now it's cool to like our music so we should probably go on tour since there are now tons of people that would pay for tickets just to say they've seen us.

I'll save the final judgmental evaluation for after the show though, of course.

I've never seen Jeff live, but every video I've seen since his 'comeback' has been as good, if not better than his solo performances from back in the day.

I just wish he'd release some new material rather than tour on his old stuff.

Hopefully getting my hands on a Mudhoney ticket this Friday, supported by Meat Puppets. Should be awesome.

If you ever get a chance to see Tech N9NE live, FUCKING GO. I've been to tons of rap concerts but Tech N9NE is the best by miles. He's a true performer. The best part is that even though he's a big artist who's been in the game for years, he's still independent, so he does shows in smaller venues that are usually standing room-only. I hate going to concerts in stadiums and arenas because it's not very personal, but virtually every big name artist has to do their shows there because that's where the money is. Tech is the exception.

I've seen him at least a half dozen times, probably more, and every time was worth the money.

I believe there is a rumor of NMH getting back together after this solo tour. Does that mean new material? Not sure. I hope. Maybe all it will take is a tour where they see how loved they are and then they'll be inspired to give us new material.

i feel yah. i kind of fell into the scene totally by accident. my friend got yellow fever or some other sickness that's not real and gave me her skinny puppy ticket for the Mythrus tour. never heard any industrial music ever, unless you count late nin (which i don't). i did a bunch of speed and went. for the next like three months i listened to nothing but Skinny Puppy, Killing Joke, Bauhaus, My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult. some seriously weird times man, you know what i mean?

I sure do know what you mean. Oddly enough i got into Killing Joke from electronic music. I listened to The Orb for years and years and found out, lets see, whats his name? The Youth, KJ's keyboardist i believe and i got into them. What i cant rap my head around is theyve been going for like 30 years now. I dont love all of their albums, but their latest couple have been incredible.

BIG FREEDIA MONDAY NIGHT

imma be twerkin and bouncing my fucking ass off. hard in the paint.

Big Freedia (pronounced "Freeda") is the stage name of Freddie Ross, an American musician known for work in the New Orleans genre of hip hop called bounce music. He has been credited with helping popularize the genre, which was largely underground since developing in the early 1990s.

Last night was basically the best thing ever. I got on stage and put my hands on the wall and bounce bounce bounce. we convinced our roommate to come with us and he was like, totally shocked. dancing to bounce is basically just fucking with your clothes on. our friend said it was like paying 15$ to see the best strip show in the world. handstands with your feet on the wall, bouncing your pussy up and down on someone's face. agh i don't have to any cardio for like two weeks. i feel like i've been hit by a truck.

i got this gin in my system, somebody's gonna be my victim!
