Nadastrom and Sazon Booya tonight

Datsik and delta heavy in september

Pretty Lights in october

Tiesto and dada life in november

Dillon francis/baauer/clockwork in november

Grabbed tickets to this. Finally, toe show themselves somewhere that isn't Japan. Plus an array of other top "post/math rock" bands for this all day-er. My body is ready.

i saw Die Antwoord at lolla. i left my friends at Metric because i wanted to be up close. by myself, i quickly made it to the front. it was madness. my favorite show this year. yolandi mooned the audience. ninja went crowd surfing, and when he got back up to the front people were not ready for him and there was a big crash. i was in it. fortunately i was drunk enough not to worry. i helped shove him up and away, and then someone pulled me to my feet the moment i stuck a hand out. "Baby's on Fire" was the best.

Oct 10th : Andrew Bird & Here We Go Magic (dope combo)
Oct 22nd : Passion Pit

Nov 8th : Dr. Dog
Nov 10th : Dr Dog

Max Power, if you like any of these faggot bands come on a date with me.

August 14th: Gruff Rhys
August 18th: Murder By Death w/ Ha Ha Tonka

September 4th: Built to Spill
September 15th: The Melvins
September 25th: Mono

October 4th: The Devil Makes Three w/ John Fullbright
October 10th: Dr. Dog
October 17th: Dinosaur Jr.

^ Murder by death, I'm jealous.

Also it was a toss up between Built to Spill or Andrew Bird and Hwgm because they fall on the same date.

I also considered getting tickets for Mono, but I don't know. 3rd rate post rock may just not be worth it. Explosions in the Sky live pales in comparison to Mogwai live and I choose EitS over Mono, so hm..

What city are you near, Grunge?

What city are you near, Grunge?

Omaha, Nebraska. The line-up I posted, while total bullshit compared to bigger cities, is probably the best series of shows that have come through here in the past 7 years or so.

Re: The Mono show - they're not my favorite post-rock band either, but I'm going with people who promised to bring a shitload of psychoactive chemicals, so it's not like I'm NOT gonna go. ;)

^ Totally understandable now.

I'd feel really bad dragging my girlfriend out to see them though and it's definitely not worth going alone to, or wasting my psychoactive chemicals on.

Was blessed to see mewithoutYou (8/11) and Sebadoh (8/12) this past weekend. If only I'd known that Archers of Loaf were playing on the 10th, I would have been aligned to better enhance the momentous experience.

Being the pleb that I am, I only know of Dr. Dog from that list (although I've heard of andrew bird). Yeah brah, hopefully I'll have this current mess straightened out by then.

Hey! Mono is better than 3rd rate. They're no Do Make Say Think ( ;) ), but they put out solid stuff.

Omaha, Nebraska.

Suddenly the Connor story seems that much more plausible.

ITT: MrGrunge admits he works for Saddle Creek Records.

Good good, I hope that you can straighten it all out so I can get you bent.

& ITT: Grunge reveals he's Conor Oberst.
(In my wildest wet dreams)

oh man, we're such a disgustingly function family at times. wife and i are going to see radiohead in november for me, and then coldplay for her in the same month. now, in december we're both taking our (currently 15 month old) boy to see his first concert at the final wiggles show with the original band. :D

twin shadow & grimes in the next month. this is not a repeat from 6 months ago. actually it is. last night we went to the living walls party and sealions were there, i guess that counts, even though they practice in my basement.

fuck me. brian jonestown massacre is playing at the variety tonight.

i really want to go, but i suck at going out on school nights.
