^I'm always so jealous of your obscene amount of concert going. :p

I'm going to check out my buddy's band Dundreaies tonight. $5 bucks, two blocks from my apartment, can't beat it.

I saw New York Dolls last night...they are so past their prime. Sorta bummed me out. But it was still nice to be outside on a pier watching a concert and drinking $3 beers.

But I think next week is Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, and then in Sept. it's the Flaming Lips, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and Sufjan Stevens. For the first time in my life I got tickets as soon as they went on sale and got great tickets for all three of those shows. I am gonna go to the Flaming Lips show either dressed up as a Lizard or a Wizard. Not sure...

here are my upcoming shows. all on long island, ny:

8/23 @ the donkey- this is hell/ bayside, etc

8/26 @ vp south (in afternoon)- friend's band and a bunch of equally shitty bands

8/26 @ beery's (in evening)- whiskey life, etc

8/27 @ mccoy's - the burden lays buried, etc

8/29 @ ritual- throwdown/ zao/ evergreen terrace, etc

9/16 @ fin's pub- down in the fourth/ 25 ta life/ a love for enemies/ lockdown, etc

most are friends' bands/ local bands. nothing special, but something to do nonetheless. i'm sure there will be more to add later.

This bar is literally around the corner from my house. I can't believe they started having shows there, it was previously an old man, white-trash saloon. ;)

Despite the fact that the venue is so close, I don't think I'd be hitting up that show. Washed up tough-guy hardcore bands aren't my thing. I did see Skinless there about a month back, and it was awesome.

That lineup might not be as bad as you think...The headlining band Arsis actually kicks some ass. They are from Virginia, but may be a little too metal for your tastes. Ed Gein is also not terrible, they are a decent grindcore band from upstate. I have also heard good things about Sixthgate, but they are also local, and metal (I have never seen them).

sonof- lockdown and ditf are my friends. plus it's ditf's first show since james' marrow transfusion... so everyone will be there. i'm kind of sick of 25 ta life, but whatever.

so will you be at that vp south show? i may spend more than the 1/2 hour there if you're going to be there too.

I most likely won't make it to that one. :( I've been busy getting ready for the new school year and I'm also STRAPPED for cash (even though the show is probably cheap as hell, but gas, ect.).

I think the last show for the summer for me will be next Wednesday, August 30th. Hatebreed is doing a record release show at CBGB, and tickets are included when you preorder the new album (about 17 bucks...not terrible).

Tickets need to be bought online or at Looney Tunes CDs, 31 Brookvale Ave, West Babylon, NY, 631-587-7722
and picked up the Tuesday before the show or the day of show.

Hit this link if interested: http://www.looneytunescds.com/rel/v2_viewupc.php?storenr=45&upc=01686180542

I'm sure tickets are going to go really quick...I ordered mine today as soon as I heard about it. Hatebreed is going to rock CB's like no one's business. :D

Goddamn, this tour is going to be a solid one.

HATEBREED, BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, NAPALM DEATH, EXODUS, FIRST BLOOD & DESPISED ICON
8o

check http://www.myspace.com/hatebreed for all the tour dates.

Wood, this show is coming to Allentown...seems like one you wouldn't want to miss and that's close to your neck of the woods if I'm not mistaken...closest show to me is Sayerville, NJ...I hate making that hike.:(

I was coming into this thread just to brag about this tour :-)

Im going to the sunday show in Lancaster, PA, its right in my backyard. only $15 for a killer lineup!

HATEBREED Presented by Jagermeister

>>The Black Dahlia Murder

>>Napalm Death

>>Exodus

>>First Blood

Allthough I hear Napalm Death is horrible live (i heard all they do is their old shit from the "Scum" days, and they do 80s grindcore renditions of all their new material, yuk) I am really psyched to see them. I dont really care about Black Dahlia Murder, but Exodus is excellent live. I cant wait to see how First Blood turns out, and Hatebreed is always a fun time. I dont have anything goin on the next day, and im goin with a car full of people, so im sure ill he heavily inebriated. Gonna be an awesome time!

the following week is Venom in philly (dunno if im going to that), and Carnivore in allentown (if any of ya dont know carnivore is Peter Steele of Type O Negative's old band, and they were def at the forefront of metal in the 80s) Sept 9th. Ill be there. Far off, but i hear Testament is coming to jersey in October, and ill be damned if i dont make it to that. Also Dismember and I forget who theyre touring with, but they coming to NYC early october too so i might be in new york for that weekend.

Oct 12 2006 8:00P Starland Ballroom Sayreville, NJ

Hell yeah they are. :D

I was planning to go to that show, but then I realized they are coming much closer to me:

Oct 15 2006 8:00P Crazy Donkey Long Island, NY

I have never seen the mighty Testament before, and I am pretty damn hyped.

I just saw an add for this tour in Decibel Magazine, as they are promoting it.
Amazing metal lineup:

Dismember
Vital Remains
Demiricous
Grave
Withered

Methinks I'll be hitting the NYC show.

October 1, NYC, BB Kings

Just saw Ted Leo play...I wasn;t sure what to expect. There were a lot of people with ironic facial hair. The band was just meh.

yeah SonOF i missed Testament in allentown 2 summers ago, they closed a 3 day festival following Obituary. One of my best friends was there, he said Testament does an outstanding performance live - they do all their old material and work in a lot of their new stuff too.

And yeah I think thats the lineup for the Dismember show, thats cool that Demiricous is on that lineup too glad u got me into them. I hope i can afford both these events in the same month! Its a hell of a trek for me to both jersey and nyc.
