At first I sat in row W!! next to the coolest bluelighter (well, for that night

) Finder. Amiina was there as usual to prep us for Sigur Ros. The women all wore dresses, 2 red 2 blue (for Icelandic pride, aw). I thought their set was more polished than I've ever seen. The highlight for me was Hemipode because they seemed to be really into it and it's one of their more pop-like songs. The last two songs they played included the musical saw so that was a treat as well.
At intermission I went up to say hello to my best friend and roommate Katie who was sitting front row center. I noticed while I was up there that there was a seat next to her open. I went back to my seat though and thought nothing of it. Sigur Ros came out shortly thereafter. They opened, typically, with glósóli. I also really enjoyed The Nothing Song this time around. Well, I've enjoyed it every time so it's hard to compare. The next highlight for me was Gong. I have recently been getting more and more into Gong as I think it's a fantastically well-rounded song. After that, hoppípolla was the next song I remember distinctly. This was when I finally realized that they had different graphics behind them than the past two times I had seen them. During hoppípolla they appropriately had images of young children hopping in puddles. I almost died right then and there.
THEN, I decided to randomly check my phone to see what time it was. I saw I had missed about 5 calls and had 2 text messages. Katie was frantically trying to get me to come down to sit with her because the young man next to her told her that his brother wasn't able to come. I grabbed my purse and practically ran up to the first row. WOW. I was literally less than 20 feet away from Jonsi. I watched all the band member's technique and took a lot in regarding how diciplined they were (though only Kjartan has been classically trained) throughout the rest of the show. Orri (drummer) was extremely animated and seemed particularly into the show. Jonsi's voice was better than I've ever heard it... an added plus. heysátan (the haystack), dauðalagið (death song) and popplagið (pop song) was IMO by far the best run of the show. They deffinetly know how to end on a high note.
Overall, as I expected, the show had a lot more recent songs than the latter. I know some people were dissapointed by this. But if I were in a band I would get tired of playing Vaka for the 300th time too. I wasn't let down by this shift, I embrace it as I can't be let down by my boys.

God, I'm obsessed.
