hmm. that "commitment issues" shit hit close to home. i don't think i have commitment issues, though, but intimacy issues. that is how i always thought of it. completely needing to be able to love the person i had found to love, and completely inept at the task. =[
some addicts, and just people, i have known, are okay with keeping a charade in their lives. they can communicate one reality with someone, and a completely different one with other people. or one reality to others but it's completely contradictory to the objective truth. you just can't trust other people to decide what's happening in your own life. you chose to take the passive role, and wait for him break up with you. what if he just drags you along for the sake of your continuing, superfluous storyline in his life? you can't really think that is dignified? i can understand that headspace where you feel you need validation from someone, unfortunately. it's a very ugly, vulnerable place to be. but somewhere, hopefully you understand that that is not "dignified", but just fucked up.
