The air was crisp as if it was expected to be.
The stars screamed out for attention.
The wheat in the fields swayed like music being played to entertain the comatosed gods.
The trees as usual were treeing.
The bushes; bushing, the grass; grassing.
The luminary moon made everything seem softly dusted with powdered sugar,
like you could take a bite out of the delicious scene.
One shadow toward the woods had no light.
Dull; lifeless
Still visible
How lonely could the shadow be?
The eccentric area was still in tune to grass, trees, and bushes, yet it was left out.
No powdered sugar.
I crouched in the shadow like I was hiding from something.
Hiding from the normality of powered sugar.
The escape from the pattern.
Everything around it was the same except for the shadow.
It was different; pallid.
I was attracted to it.
It made me realize that even though the light of the moon was comely,
the shadow could express the personality of nature.
It inveighed alone to state the life it represented.
It expressed the lessons of difference unlike its’ blissfully lit surroundings.
I curled up in a ball and fell asleep
while my new friend whispered a midnight parable in my ear.
