my therapist in a rehab warned my alcoholic boyfriend that opiate addicts most often relapse on alcohol; i was wondering where she got that info from cuz i'd never heard it.
 
you have to understand though that just because somone likes opiates and uses them they cant just drink alcohol and end up producing THIQ's ,this is not a NORMAL thing in the least bit people,and its pretty much only happens in ALLERGIC /ADDICTED alcoholics

and i HAVE NEVER got the feelings i got from alcohol/THIQ's from any opiod ,i am a CLASSIC example of allergic/addicted alcoholic

so unless you fit in the catagories in the link i posted dont think you can produce these THIQ's if that was the case EVERYONE would be an alcoholic,cause i doubt anybody would pass up the euphoria you get from this kinda situation/reaction

although i enjoy opiods,and was a major alcoholic ,i would take the euphoria i got from alcohol/THIQ's over any opiod

the majority of alcoholics are ALLERGIC/ADDICTED ALCOHOLICS...what i am saying is alcoholcs get the ot euphoria from alcohol,but the weird thing is the alcohol is signaling somthing else in the brain ,its not the alcohol getting them HIGH

Two decades ago, Texas researcher Virginia Davis noticed during autopsies of skid row alcoholics that their brains contained an opiate that she first mistook for heroin.. This was puzzling because these indigents did not have the money needed to support such an expensive drug habit. The heroin-like substance turned out to be THIQs that have been manufactured inside their brains when acetaldehyde from the breakdown of alcohol had combined with natural neurotransmitters. Davis's data support the concept of alcoholism as a true addiction stemming from specific biochemical events leading to the formation of an addictive substance similar to opiates such as heroin.

We now know that in heavy drinkers, THIQs displace endorphins and bind with the opiate receptors in the brain. In doing so, they signal the brain to stop producing endorphins, As the natural endorphin supply declines, more and more alcohol is needed to produce more THIQs to replace the natural endorphins and bind with opiate receptors to create feelings of well-being.

At the University of Texas, researcher Kenneth Blum, M.D., found that restoring these natural endorphins and neurotransmitters destroyed or depleted by alcohol will reduce cravings for alcohol and restore normal moods.

Some pertinent findings emerged from a study of the reactions to alcohol among two groups of college students. One group was composed of students who had a family history of alcoholism; those in the second group had no alcoholism in their backgrounds. After four drinks, the students from alcoholic families produced much higher levels of acetaldehyde, and they could perform a variety of mental and physical tests better under the influence of four drinks than when they had not been drinking. The students with no family history of alcoholism reported feeling moderately intoxicated and showed impaired physical dexterity, reflexes, and mental ability after four drinks."



but take it from my personal experience of being a MAJOR ALCOHOLIC ,as soon as the alcohol is gone..........the wort withdrawl you could ever imagine,but when i drank NOTHING EVER MADE ME SO EUPHORIC.....

i have gotten INTENSE euphoria from alcohol although i am not an alcoholic. i no longer can get intense euphoria from alcohol unless i mix it with benzos (and even then it's a rare event). but there was a time when alcohol produced an intense euphoria for me, very comparable to that produced by opiates. i no longer get much euphoria from alcohol alone though and i find it hard to understand how someone could be a hardcore alcoholic because the hangovers are just so horrendous and you cant even remember whether or not you reached euphoria the next day.
 
yeah, i really don't buy the only alcoholics can get intense euphoria from alcohol idea at all. i'm sure lots of people have had experiences where they were in the right place at the right time and felt that depth of euphoria alcohol can occasionally provide. i'm sure alcoholics TEND to get more euphoria off alcohol than non alcoholics but that doesn't mean non alcoholics can't get it.
 
as for the mixing opiates with alcohol thing, thats my favorite mix. i dont recommend drinking first and then using opiates, i do it the other way around. and i dont recommend doing it at all if you don't already have a tolerance for opiates.
 
i didnt mean you couldnt feel euphoria from alcohol itself ,but unless your an alcoholic chances are you dont have THIQs flowing after you drink

hell i ge euphoria from waking up to a bright sunny day and feel great....

now you can get euphoria from alcohol just fine,but you are hight from the alcohol,ALCOHOLICS ARE HIGH FROM THIQ's ...theres a differance

alcoholics metabolize alcohol TWICE as fast as a normal drinker ....

as everyone really should know euphoria is subjective

there is a difference from going out and drinking like you were,well ill guess thats what you did since you arent a alcoholic so you must nt drink everyday ,theres a differenc in going out and having fun to NEEDING alcohol to produce more THIQ's because your allergic to the alcohol,

a pure alcoholic feels the euphoria inside ,we drink alone alot ,cause we just like the feeling,you ask how somone could keep drinking even though the hangovers are terrible ,well as soon as the alcohol is drank like i said withing minutes more THIQ's are produced and they take the hanover away ,this was a EVERYDAY THING for me
 
but how did you do stuff like go to work/school? if you have to drink continuously, how do you get things done?
 
thats the thing ,I DIDNT GET ANYTHING DONE..i binged like most allergic/addicted alcoholics do

in between binges i did tree work with my dad ,made few hundred bucks and would stay drunk till either i ran out of money or my body gave out ,i would usually last 20-45 days ,drinking till i passed out then waking up drinking pass out wake up drink pass out,i would stop eating solid food,stop drinking for the most part anything cept beer ,liqour,i prefered beer

i took milk thistle to keep my liver going,just so i could drink MORE,when i ran out of milk thistle ,i would throw up blood ,so when ever i finally got to where i couldnt walk to the store anymore or couldnt get money i was forced to withdrawl,the worst of it lasting around 7 or so days ,no sleep ,horrible shaking ,spasms,hallucinations,auditory as well as visual,SEVER weakness (i pissed myself cause i couldnt stand up,wasnt strong enough to support myself)
constant vomiting,every few seconds mind set would change from crying ,laughing ,sad ,happy ..my stomach was bloated ,liver very sensitive....sever anxiety,explosive shits....very bad hot flashes....starred at th wall on my back for the most part of the 7 worst days

i usually found a beer here and there and i guess that kept me OUT of seizures
although i blacked outalot,i would talk and completely forget what i was talking about as soon as i started talking,or start vomiting,my heart would palpittate(sp)

ya wanna know the worst part of it? i miss the feeling when i wasnt in withdrawl of coarse,withdrawl made me into the worst lie,manipulating person in the world,i stole alot of beer as well
 
the funny thing is i am a REALLY strong guy physically ,and the weaknes was amazing,i couldnt hold a glass long enough to drink it ,i was usually back to "normal" after 2 weeks but still had sweats and bad sleep patern ,that all got back to normal after a month

im 2-1/2 years sober now
 
^ Congratulations. Luckily you made it out alive. That's a real sobering story, hydro_chronic - no pun intended.

Have you been checked out by a doctor? Is any liver or stomach or pancreas damage to be seen? Hopefully you don't have any permanent reminders of your drunken days...

I am now experiencing very interesting Ethanol & Weed combination

This feels almost dissociative , with utmost euphoria.
Very stabile. Not at to there or here...

Stilnoct also taken.

tizadine = seroquel is very strong inducing alcohol nodding. opiate systems partially activated :)
 
Smoking a cigarette or two while drunk (with 0 tolerance) can be euphoric. The synergy is very nice too!

lowering tolerance

I know for a fact that carbamazepine and most ssri's lower your tolerance and increase dizziness from alcohol respectively. For more euphoria I would use carbamazepine. Ive had some good results.
