I WANT to go, believe me I do. More than anything I just want to see everyone again... but the financial situation is ugly. And yeah I have a job now but its absolutely ridiculous how shitty I'm being paid. I won't even get into detail it's depressing :(

I *can* go but, when I think about it responsibly and realistically its a very fucking stupid idea for me to 1) spend all that $ on gas and 2) to take off 3 days of work.

I'm stressed as fuck about this and if I can't go I'm letting so many people down (1 especially in particular) and I feel guilty but there isn't much I can do to make things ok.
 
well i always tell myself this if im going to miss a party, and its very true...
there will always be another good party with all your friends!! do whats right for you, and make things ok so you can party hearty the next time!!! :)
 
I MAY not be going now... I'm getting a little burnt out on parties lately and am finally becoming very very tired of the Asylum. Everytime I go to Asylum now I don't even fuckin dance, I just stare at the weirdos and stand in one place...worth 30 bucks? I think not.... we'll see if my friends can get me goin to this, but its not lookin like I'll be there.

I know I suck because I'm not coming and I know people are pissed at me which personally I think is unfair. I WOULD COME but I can't afford it. And there's a lot more too it but basically if anyone wants to be mad at me for not coming then I don't want to hear about it. I'm upset enough about this.

I think this time I'll make it a spontaneous visit. Apparently I can't plan very well because when I plan its a good time but when the planned time comes its never good :(
 
I got a few questions for Bl'ers about Boom , I am contimplating going ... I have never been [to anything like ], whats the atmosphere like? How about clothing , [ i don't wanna be outta place etc] just looking for the newbie general stuff. Do they also sell alcohol there? Any info would be good

So you know, I am 27 - m - from MA , I regularly go to clubs, bars mostly etc... Boston area, lowell etc... any comparisons you can make to a local reg scene would be good.

Hope you can help a newbie out.
 
No alcohol is served at the Asylum, but they do sell water and Gatorade and other various items. Atmosphere....well at this place there seem to be a lot of younger kids, since the Asylum is a 16+ venue. Most of them tend to stay in the back corner area in their puddles and such. There is one large main room, a side room, a back room whith stairs that lead to the upstairs room. Clothing? Wear whatever you want :) You could never be out of place at the Asylum, there are all types of people there. No matter what you wear there's always going to be someone dressed way weirder than you. Occasionally you'll see a few of the local cops walking around inside, but you're fine as long as you're cool and not looking suspicious.

And there are undercovers that work for the security co that wander about as well... so no slinging drugs in the bathroom! :D
 
I'm not mad at you, Kristen. I'm disappointed that you're not coming again because I was looking forward to seeing you, but no worries.

I ordered the ticket online though, and I had to give your name as the ticketholder because they take names at the door (well actually I'm not sure about Truetix, but I know that's what Spinfoil does). Does anyone know if they'll let me change that? I have another friend who just told me today that she needs me to help her out with a ticket, and I was just going to get it at the ticket outlet near my friend's dorm the day of, but it would be easier and cheaper to just switch it around. Thank you for your offer, Jamie, but if they let me do that I'll be all set. :)
