Books on beating addiction

" The Alcoholism and Addiction Cure,"-I would completely avoid this. It's nothing more than a sales manual for their rehab program. No scientific evidence, no medical data.

I found that Duff McCagan's autobiography was excellent. He was the bassist in Guns and Roses. I read it in rehab in syracuse and I could really understand his thoughts and feelings throughout the book. I developed my addiction early, but I was a well respected DJ in pittsburgh. I couldn't accept the success without using, and I totally understood where he was coming from.

there you go. Its a really good documentary though its from the early to mid 90s. It does show people shooting up but hell I watched Intervention the other night and it showed the same thing.

I'll add that it's a really awesome documentary, really gets into the lives and mindset of these addicts and shows you how dark their lives get. Just a warning to anyone though - it does get really, really dark, it doesn't pull its punches, so if you're sensitive about that kind of thing then you should give it a miss.
