Im looking for something that isn't too heavy and is widely available i.e. I could maybe find it at the library. Anything on any interesting Philosophy and Spirituality topics, anything to due with the psychedelic experience / state is what I am mainly interested in but looking to expand my horizons here to anything that is an interesting, not way way too long or heavy, good read. Thanks in advance :)

One of the best books I ever read on the psychedelic experience was LSD Psychotherapy by Stanislav Grof. Its a fairly old book but it gives very amazing insight into the psychedelic experience. The book is fairly abstract and a very rudimentary understanding of the field of psychology is kinda required.

Another great book specifically about the psychedelic experience thats more "philosophical or spiritual" was The Doors of Perception by Aldous Huxley. It is written as a narrative so it can be a fun, enlightening read. This seems more in line with what your looking for.

I hope others can chime in with more books because this is not my expertise.

I have written these down and will head to the library today or tomorrow. Thanks a lot and any more idea's, keep em coming. I feel like I need to start educating myself a lot more and not just sitting about getting wasted.

I belive this is what you are looking for, at least according the more spaced out friends i have, its a classic:
Food of the Gods: The Search for the Original Tree of Knowledge : A Radical History of Plants, Drugs, and Human Evolution by Terence McKenna.

Id recommend something more down to earth, like:
Ninth Insight - James Redfield.
I read it when i was round 20 and found it quite eye opening at the time. Deals with meeting people and how to view coincidences in life in a way that makes everyday life bigger.
Same goes for The Alchemist i guess. Not really spirituality but philosophy at least.

The Doors of Perception is getting sent to my branch in a day or two, didn't write down any of the others and thats the only one I already knew so I am going back tomorow to get these books and some begginers chemistry textbooks, any more ideas would be great. I think the library might have DMT The Spirit Molecule as well which I will hopefully be able to borrow.

Thanks CrackAndScrabble, I went to the library, forgetting to write them down but have reserved DMT the spirit Molecule (They only had it on audio book, thought that was pretty strange haha), Terence mckenna - Food of the Gods: The Search for the Original Tree of Knowledge and another book on how legalizing most drugs would fix a lot of problems. I searched for a few others but I couldn't find any, when I get a chance I will check out Maps and do some reading. Might get The doors of Perception tomorow hopefully, I will phone my mum to check as she works at said library.

Also another thing that interests me greatly is supernatural activity especially extra-terrestrial topics. Anyone have any wide spread books in the UK that might be at my library on extra-terrestrials? The reason im not just downloading ebooks or doing it all online is I find it hard to read proper books on computers.

Sorry for the double post but reading The Doors of Perception as I type this, very interesting stuff. Dont think I will be able to put it down

The Kybalion.

You can get it free from the internet in .pdf format.
