Bonnaroo 2012 Lineup Announced

I would rather go see Roo than All Good or the more useless, jam band catering festies out there, but that's me. I'm just not into that. I'm thinking about going again this year...

may the magic of phish bless your soul as you twirl through glitter rainbows under the tennessee sky.

i take that back, the entire line up is lame as hell

add about 100k sketch balls and 95 degree heat, hell no

stop trying to recreate woodstock

very rarely do bands put on a great performance at events like this
this is absolutely FALSE....bands play super, super epic shows at these events...honestly i havent been to roo since 04 (back when they were good)...but look up primus's show from that year...blows your mind...or trey anastasio's symphony before coming out and blowing everyone away with some of his own songs along with some zeppelin songs...playing black dog with a 250 lb black opera singer....she was awesome. and i dont even care much for dave matthews but dave and friends at 04 roo was awesome...playing with trey and doing some phish songs...it was awesome too....this year i attended something called summer camp in illinois...AMAZING festival.

while i do agree it is sometimes hard to get the crowds truly into the shows in the middle of the day its still not impossible. night shows are just more fun...theres no doubt about it...and i honestly think this years roo looks horrible. the lineup i mean...but if theres atleast 3 shows you want to see each day then the event is gonna be worth it...and 4 hours of phish to finish off the weekend is gonna melt peoples faces.

id go for the drugs, and GZA. But TN is just a bit too far for my liking. heard it was a fun time though

I agree with d-kong about saving your energy for the night, that's when shit gets wild
You just have to find some shade under a tree or something and chill for a couple hours here and there when the heat is on

It doesn't seem like it's going to be blistering hot down there this year anyway but who knows it is Tn in June

But I don't agree with 04 being the best year, 06 and 08 were my funnest years but still every time I've been I've had an incredible time and seen some of the best live music I've ever witnessed, while also discovering 4 or 5 new bands I like that I've never heard of if it wasn't for the fest

I wouldn't take China Ryder's post too seriously. He only ever goes to concerts of washed up people dicking around on guitars. I also think he has some sort of social anxiety, so I doubt he's ever been to a festival to actually judge what all festivals since Woodstock are all about.

i dont actually think 04 was the best...it's just the last roo i went to. i remember 06 looking good though but i dont see how any could compare to the first year to be honest...i went the first and third year. the problem with the first year was they didnt have a good way to usher all of the people into the campgrounds resulting in some people being in line as long as twenty something hours. it was also hot as balls the first year too...the 3rd year...04 it rained. it just seems roo has gone downhill band wise over the years and gotten away from the original style of lineup with mostly jam bands...i'd even be ok if it were mostly jam bands followed up with several dub step and a couple of rock bands but it's really gone more downhill than just that...im very sure it would still be a blast to be there though and wish i lived closer bc i'd probably still go....but for this year i was happy with summer camp. if you look up their lineup it was amazing...next year i may try and hit up the hangout in alabama, summer camp and bonnaroo all 3...or atleast the hangout and summer camp. after this year i will be forever a summer camp regular.

and basically what i was getting at with saving energy for the night is this...most shows simply arent AS fun in the day time...they can still be fun though...just pace yourself and take it easier in the day. you will be happy you did in the long run. and if there is 1 or 2 bands you want to see each night then the festy is probably worth the money considering how much each individual show would of cost elsewhere plus adding the convenience of the fact that they are all in one location and the most you have to travel is from one stage to the next

take what this guy says seriously

he's a mod and has had coffee at private coffee shops with lead singers from ground breaking and original bands that only allow laika and his friends to listen to their music

my first festival is a week after roo'ster shit

and just like laika's favorite band, you've never heard of it. cause you aint hetty on the scene brah dawg

dont care for the heady nugs out there but i can get into some molly, cinnamon, or xtina...and yes i know all almost the same thing but not exactly. i LOVE lucy but never find any worth a shit anymore
