Bong ban aims to smoke out head shops

I fucking hate born agains who decide to fuck with everyone elses buisness. Just cause he was a fucking cokehead does not mean he should be able to interfere with everyone elses business. WTF does coke have to do with weed pipes anyway? You can't even smoke rock in most bongs. What a twat.

Tell him to go back to church and fucking stay there where he belongs with the rest of the sheep :p

banning hookah pipes? wtf??

i have a hookah pipe, and i only use it to smoke shisha. i've never put weed in there. i have bongs/pipes for my weed :)
 
Wow, just wow. Headshops around here did used to sell stuff for coke use, like the bottle with the little spoon in it...dad had me try to find him one, and I must say, none of the headshops in New York State I've been to sell those anymore. But banning bongs and pipes? So much better for you than a blunt or a joint since there's no paper involved. After being in Hawaii for 3 weeks, I've decided they know whats up with pot. It's close to legal there, the federal government leaves them alone, and they are busy trying to deal with their Meth problem.

I actually got a good deal at a headshop in Long Island because some girl came in looking for JWH and I was throwing out some harm reduction info at her...the headshop refuses to carry that stuff since they don't consider it safe, and it even got me a discount.

Leave the fucking stoners alone already, damnit.

No it isn't. Plenty of headshops here in New Zealand sell bongs without problem. It's only illegal to possess a drug utensil "for the purpose of the commission of an offence against the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975" (I copied that from an old court summons). ;)

Sections 22(1A) and 22(3A) of the Misuse of Drugs Act give the Minister of Health the power to ban the 'import or supply' of drug utensils (other than syringes, I think). The Misuse of Drugs (Prohibition of Cannabis Utensils and Methamphetamine Utensils) Notice 2003 bans bongs, among other pipes.

My understanding of the law is that it bans things like water pipes, pipes with more than two holes, and pipes with metal bowls. It doesn't, however, ban vases that can easily be turned into bongs. As far as I know the law has never been seriously enforced.

I think head shops get around that law by selling bongs as "vases" and cannabis pipes as "tobacco pipes" (rather than actually calling them "bongs", etc.), as that 2003 Notice doesn't specifically describe what a bong, hash pipe, hookah, and so on, actually resemble. Interestingly though, it does describe meth pipes in detail, and yet many head shops still sell those.
