Bolivia urges UN to defy Washington and legalise coca

So if you are so concerned with cocaine production, wouldn't it make sense to make possession of more than 500g of coca leaf illegal with draconian punishment, rather than outlawing it altogether? You could even regulate it with behind the counter sales much like pseudoephedrine is done in the US these days.
I would without a doubt extract cocaine from leaves if I could get some in a pharmacy, and so would many others.

At around 30 dollars for a kilo of loose tea (retail) I'd say your cocaine would be very expensive if you think about all the other stuff you'd need. Unless of course you bought 100kg of tea at once, in bulk... pharmacies or shops could be asked by law not to supply in excess of a certain amount of tea to any one person at a particular time (hehe, you'd go there every day and keep buying tea cos you live up on the hill and it makes you sick :D)

"so bolivia just expects us to throw away 100 billion dollars worth of american jobs just because it's 'technically' right for them to be able to grow their plant? absurd!" 8(
those jobs only exist because our society cant function by any other means other than supressing problems with force.
