Hello. I just recently tried to dissolve some 2c-i into some h20 but it wouldnt break out of its clumps. I boiled some water in a soup pan and than dipped the solution, which is in a jar, into the pan for about 10 seconds than again for 30 seconds. It felt kind of hot and I could only hold the base where water was for about 5 seconds before It burnt. Could I have possibly ruined the solution?

:(

Just b/c the exterior of the glass was that hot does not mean at all that you're solution got anywhere near that hot. It's hard to tell for sure. Did your 2c-i end up dissolving? It's always been fairly soluable in water for me, maybe break it up into as fine of a powder as possible before adding to solution?

I seriously doubt you'd have done any damage to your 2C-I with such a brief exposure to heat. I've used almost boiling water straight from the kettle to dissolve 2C-I before with no problem so 30 seconds of immersion with glass to protect it won't have caused any problems, I'd have thought. As Explorer said, it'll just be the glass that got hot mostly. In 40 seconds I doubt the solution would have been raised in temperature than more than a coupla degrees anyway really.

I find 2C-I is slightly less soluble than some other 2Cs but warm water and shaking/stirring has always done the trick for me.

Yea it was odd because 2c-e and 2c-c dissolved easily but this needed heat. Thanks!
