Body/muscle tension from smoking.

I've been smoking for 4 years now, on and off really. Never really had an extreme stoner phase but I probably smoke AT LEAST once a week.

I've noticed, and it's sort of always been this way but I'm noticing it more and more, that when I get really high, my muscles get very tense. Especially my stomach muscles. This is exacerbated a lot when I become very high, or paranoid/upset/confused when high but is always sort of present.

Everyone I've asked about it explains the opposite, that it relaxes and soothes their muscles. While I notice this soothing after I am done with the "high" and I've reached the after-bake clarity zone, but during the high my body generally feels very tense.

There have been times I have smoking hash, or eaten an eatable and I actually feel as if I am paralyzed

Is this simply being "stoned" as the term implies? I mean, I've been high to point I almost twitch or shake. And it's not like I'm new to smoking or anything, it's just always been this way.

These effects are pronounced if I have taken a psychedelic in recent weeks, if I am cold, around people I'm not comfortable with, etc.

I understand a lot of this is just simply being paranoid when high (which I am prone to), but even my most easy going comfortable high my body still feels tense.

Maybe try smoking mainly high-cbd indica strains or smoking small amounts slowly until you get to where you want to be. Weed affects everyone differently so this may just be your odd reaction to cannabis. Does this also happen when you are only slightly high?

If you can rule out psychological factors, then it sounds like your body might be sensitive to the THC portion of the high. In such cases, nce your body dehydrogenates THC to CBD, you are able to feel clear and relaxed. Another thing you might want to consider is that your body is lacking in nutrients that regulate muscle and nervous contraction, like magnesium and B12. If you're deficient in those, then nervous stimulation of any kind could make you tense.

I disagree with the above post because indicas do not automatically guarantee that CBD content will be higher. That is strain specific but not species specific (indica vs. sativa). Some indicas have more THC content than others. Though I do admit, sativas in general have higher THC content which means you might want to avoid those.

I recommend investigating strains that are lower in THC and higher in CBD to avoid this problem in the future.

I've had similar issues because I am vegetarian and I vaporize everyday to induce my appetite. At first I feel real relaxed, but then when I come down I began to feel more tense in the muscles (I also take my stimulants before smoking.) I believe it's because I haven't been taking strains high in cbd, it's been just fire corn or something with a lot of thc. Hope that helps ..

It is definitely partly psychological as it is greatly exacerbated if i am paranoid or uncomfortable.

And all the marijuana I smoke is of very high quality, if not medical as it is legal where I live.

Like the other night I had one bong hit of medical marijuana and was paralyzed for like 4 hours, could hardly play cards with my buddies, couldnt' follow movie plot, woke up stoned in the morning.
