I think it’s beyond time that we revived this series.

These are the people who have already had threads done about them:

Plazma, Jakoz, SupaDiscoBreaka, QueenBeat / Up all night, Dante, mr_fluffy, babu, katmeow, vurtomatic, backo and bunny.

(could a mod please move them over to the archive? ta)

Here’s the deal, each week the person who had the last thread about them will be able to start a thread about someone else. The threads will run for a week and if you don’t want to start the next thread about someone else anybody can jump in and start one if it’s not started by Tuesday.

I decided to start the series off this time with haste because I really do think the man is amazing, loads of late night chats have proved him to be intelligent and caring and an extremely interesting person, he’s been a shoulder to cry on, friend and confidant as much as anyone that’ you’ve never met can be.

So if you’ve met haste share a story about him and if you haven’t you can still post about a memorable thread, post, email or chat that you’ve had with him.

Awww... haste... :)

I haven't met him but have extremely fond feelings for him from afar. I think it's his computer bug-knowlege wizardry (walking me through 3 hours of anti-virus programs via msn), or maybe it's his love of classic rock, which puts him in the 2% of bluelighters I can relate to musically

... oh, and the fact he knows of Roxus ;)

.... Whatever it is I've always found Haste to be mature, funny and helpful, and he has a heart as big as an 80's lead singer's hair.

luv ya haste! =D

haste has always had many great intentions

well really its just by coincidence that i float through here now just when such a thread is up. its likely that other such threads have lived their whole lives whilst im absent -

so haste, how UNfortunate you are, now that i have the opportunity to reveal all your long-lost bad habits and ugly histories that have for years until now been well covered up by your PR machine.. ;)

nah i better not, as im sure theres even more dirt on me and he'll start one of these things purely devoted to something resembling a double-page-spread exposé of the life and times of MS.

what i will say is the man is thru-and-thru an organiser. with all the meetups he has organised over the years, people have benefitted greatly. now, whether he has more often than not gotten off his ass and attended the meetup himself is another story.

for example, for the bush doof ganesha about 4 years ago now almost, haste wrote..
I know it's still early but I think we should discuss meetup times. Well MikeySammy and myself will be there early, we are doing the spiritual thing of seeing the sun set ripped and then seeing it rise rolling :) :) :)
i distinctly remember arriving to a pitch-black campsite soaked with rain. sure, most would agree that its the thought that counts..
I'm thinking maybe a picnic, a few drinks/joints, good conversation, a few photo's and then watch the sun set.
too bad for the people that did turn up early for a picnic while good ol haste was still at home. some people will know themselves that haste has always had many great intentions. ;)

cheers, MS

Haste seems to always endlessly try hard to keep the Australian Social active, by starting many threads to encourage discussions, but seems these discussions that Haste started often dies after 1-2-3 pages! Not all of them, just some of them, I am sure you all know where I am coming from ;)

But seems Haste is always brainstorming for a next "discussion thread" which makes Australian Social Discussion unquie in Bluelight.....

If I ever meet him, I will shout him one of my finest single malt scotchs, and let him crap on about his obession with these Japanese cartoon movies/series :)

Big cheers to Haste for his top efforts here! :)

He's good value and a nice guy but hastey, please stop crapping on about wine!!! I remember when you used to drink VB ;)

Just messin' with ya. I'm sure everyone here will give you enough of a swelled head without me contributing.

=D

I haven't met haste, but would like to.

He's one of the posters I have utmost respect for... he brings a bit of class to social :)

You seem like a champ haste!

It was a love of cherry coke and diet vanialla coke that brought us together, and it's been blue skies and sunshine ever since ;)

On a serious note... I've not met Haste personally, but though chats online, through his posts and through reading his ever-active live journal I've come to see him as a well-rounded, thoughtful, caring and incredibly deep person, a devoted father and a man who, despite being frustrated with his current place in life, is well on his way to being nothing short of a success in life.

On a bluelight related level, Haste and I moderated the Life forum together until the day it died. He showed an amazing amount of compassion and empathy for others, and always had some level-headed advice to give which many a bluelighter was thankful for. When Second Opinion was born, Haste put in an amazing amount of energy into nurturing that forum and helping us mould it into what we wanted it to become, he helped up to turn one of bluelight's slowest community forums into one of it's busiest, and athough he has recently left us, we are forever grateful for his help... afterall, it can't of been easy modding alongside me ;)

You're a wonderful person, Haste, and I wish you all the best in life and love.

I really don't know what to say about Haste except that I completely respect him and everything he stands for. He approaches all online issues with class and tact and is never condescending or rude which is pretty much an unheard of character trait on Bluelight.

Aus Social has been lucky to have you as a mod, haste.

thank you Haste for replying to my PM's about such annoying nOOb questions such as posting pics and images and uploading av's etc. Taking the time to help someone out that you dont know is a great character attribute to have and thanks to you i feel like i can contribute fully to my time on BL.

Haste was amoungst the first MEL BLers i met on my first BL Mission to Mel back in the early days. I can remember him sitting out the back of Monkey's house i think it was....i remember thinking at the time how uproachable he was and friendly, hehe awwww. :) *reminisces*
Top bloke, and an asset to BL. :D
I'd love to catch up again one day soon, maybe during my june trip...??

good to see the revival of this thread, and particularly so considering the object of our affections :D

again, i haven't met the elusive haste, but everything i see of him on bluelight leads to believe that he's a great guy (and is a fantastic fellow mod =D).

and of course, who else would nezo have to talk anime with if it weren't for haste ;)

awww thanks guys, I'm truelly left speechless

i don't know haste but i would have to say he is one of my favourite bluelighters; he always has interesting and insightful things to say and is a true asset to this board.

if i'm scrolling through a thread that isn't grabbing my attention but i see a post by haste, i'll usually stop and read it as i like tro hear his opinions/thoughts as he articulates clearly and i like his style ;)

haste- you rock=D

tho he's still on my list of bl'ers I've not met, I have much respect for the haste...someone else already said it, but he always posts really interesting discussion points for the forum, and is great at keeping it alive.

Also, it's cool to know someone who comes from my neck of the woods and knows Fitzroy as being somewhere more than "the scary place where the junkies live" :p ;)

haste is insightful, sensitive, wise, knowledgable, passionate, has good tastes in music and wines and loves anime. i dont think anyone can find fault with that, errm i dunno about those cars though.

i met haste once, at the inaugral bluelight animefest. we sat through grave of the fireflies together, came out of that speechless and teary-eyed. yes i bet nezo was too ;)

strangely, or perhaps, not so strangely, i only got to know him better through our online ramblings even though we hardly chat. yet he's offered me advice, he's always been a source of calm rationale. despite the down time he has in his own life, he's always managed to exude an aura of strength for the people in his life.

haste is also probably one of the coolest father i'll ever meet.

im glad to have made his acquintance.
