I keep coming back here because it's a convenient way of communicating with friends who I don't get to see very often (and of course some that I have never met), and hearing varied opinions on interesting topics that don't often come up in day to day conversations with people. The social validation isn't really a contributing factor considering I (and many others) read a whole lot more than I post, last time I checked no-one tells me how damn good I am for anonymously reading others opinions.

Yeah I hate it when people disagree with me too, I reckon from now on I'm going to preface everything I say with this disclaimer to stop people trying to change the way I think. I mean hell, they're my thoughts, of course they're infallible! Surely no-one else has anything of value to add. 8) I really hate it when people question an idea I've stolen from something I've read too. I mean how am I supposed to back up my arguement when all I have is someone elses opinion to go on? Your way is much better.

I'd love to see things your way, but I just don't have access to enough drugs. Maybe once you take down bluelight and everyone sees the error of their ways, all the ex BLers will stop taking drugs so I can take advantage of the vast oversupply and make my brain fizz just enough to see your (somewhat vague) point of view.

Best of luck going out with a bang. If you make a big enough mess you may even get people to remember you for longer than 2 weeks after you leave, thereby furnishing you with a ready supply of validation that you can bask in without even being here.
 
Bluelight makes me feel needed! The internet validates me as a person! Life outside the safety of my bedroom is so bright and scary! You cant destroy this! I need this place to live! Arrrrrrrrrggggggg!

I suspect that for this thread to succeed in tearing BL apart at the seams their needs to be a quick and sustained injection of replies from people who a) understand what, if anything besides "look at me", the OP is getting at, and b) care enough to get into an arguement over it.
