damn, I had been saving my entry for a long time, waiting for a chance to enter it for something. I guess I should have waited for something else where it would have fit the theme better, because I really like that photo. Oh well...:(

For what it's worth, I liked it too (quite a lot actually) - and so did the people looking over my shoulder. Why didn't I vote for it? As you said - just didn't quite capture the theme for me, but that's part of the joy of these themes - they're very open to interpretation :).

I don't really understand how a close-up of a seagull really captures street life either...but people can't resist silly animals. Not a bad photo by any means, and photos of animals aren't against the rules or anything...I just didn't understand it. Which certainly isn't unusual anyway. I'm not even sure what I'm talking about any more.

Good Round! :D

it's on a street.

and that's the sort of street life you get in a sleepy scottish fishing village. it didn't have to be about city life. :)

knowing what seagulls are like, that was a difficult photo to take.

The Gull was a joke of sorts ... BIG FUCKIN' GULL ... the pic really doesn't show it ... huge wing span! Anyway it's Pennan Town, Scotland circa 2002-3.

A few Jock's know the place ... happy to conceed victory on a technicality ;) NAY!

^good pic i reckon. well won. :D

mine was of a market i stumbled across on a solo walk around the outskirts of shanghai

For what it's worth, thank you for those couple votes I got.

Just when I thought I had a strong entry for a "street life" themed contest, I'm out done by a seagull picture.

C'est la vie I suppose...
