IAMTHOUGHTS - How'd you take that picture? It's amazing.

well i was in the woods, and i found that leaf all eaten by bugs. then i found a space in the trees where a good amount of blue sky was showing through.
i aimed my camera at the small patch of sky and used my cameras light meter to find the correct shutter speed for the sky using an aperture of f/1.8
then i held up the leaf to the patch of sky and let it auto focus on the leaf.

(metering for the sky {realy bright} will render anything that is less bright black)

and everything else, trees, the leaf, and the woods in general are much less bright than the blue sky itslef. thats why behind the leaf you can see a patch of blue/white. thats the sky with clouds. everything else( the black) is tree trunks and foliage.

NOTE: it would be tough to accomplish that shot without and SLR. (IMO that is)
i hope that makes sense.

Freaky to see while tripping in 2cb & more fucked up that I caught it on camera.

I was thinking of writing them a letter, recommending Maplins as a new source for their light show.

DG, we'll have to go with strictly silhouettes this time. Last time I went with Shadows, we had the opposite problem and people requested a silhouette theme. In a perfect world, I should have combined the two right from the start. In a less than perfect world, that's what we'll do next time. Just silhouettes for now, please. Thanks.
