Frizz, I spose you have been told this many times but you and your brothers are the epitomy of identical.

What was it like growing up together.........I would have hated the wearing the same stuff deal.

Sony Cyber-Shot, DSC W80 - 7.2 megapixels. It's a few weeks old and I'm still getting used to some of the settings and pre-sets, but I'm pretty impressed with it. One of the nice features is that it has one of the fastest digital "shutter speeds" around. No more anticipation required.... just good reflexes! :D

Previous pictures were taken with a very ancient and bulky Fujifilm Finepix A405... which, in retrospect, was a complete pain in the arse to use and didn't always capture colours and panoramas the way you wanted it to.

EDIT: So yes, yes it is an SLR.

the sony cyber shot is not an SLR actually.

SLR stands for Single Lens Reflex. In this sort of camera one lens is used for both focusing and taking this picture. In most SLRs light is directed between the 2 functions by means of a 45 degree mirror which swings up as the shutter is activated but before it actually opens. The big advantage of an SLR over other camera types is that the image in the viewfinder is the same as that in actually captured on the film. ...

my g/f actually just got a cybershot and I dont like it very much but the picture you posted is very impressive for that camera since my luck with it has not been so good.

im glad its working well for you anyway.

great photo

Ah, just had a look at the specs, and it appears you're right. It uses some processors from other SLR models (which gives it a quick response time), but it's not an SLR.

The photo is cropped from a larger image.

slr is just big words to mean detachable lens... like the nikon d70 sigh...

I too have the Sony W80 and it is far from a digital SLR. No manual controls over anything important really. :( Since my Panasonic FX8 was stolen I got a Canon SD1000 and returned it because it didnt have image stabilization and didn't display how much battery power was left and got the Sony instead.

Im not very happy with it, but Im stuck. :\
