^ I respect the thought you put into this round's theme but, still, logistically I find it difficult for a lot of people to get in this round (yes, even people who live on coasts).
interpret the theme in a more abstract way?

I guess im going to sit this one out. :/

I was going to come in here and complain about the topic, but a bunch of people already stated my argument.

I think the broad themes get more participation. I think we should do...

ELECTRICITY!

Next theme is Churches and Other Temples of Worship
followed by Black and White (i.e. non-colour)

Ermmm....like....yeah. There is Alasdair ;) :p :D kind of!

I have actually developed a rather absurd fascination for these lighthouses.

I like how they cum in all different sizes and shapes.........like some are long and skinny such as Katmeows while others are short and stumpy like mazeys.

Then there are some that are rather shy like L2Rs and others with rather strange growths on them at there bases.

Most interesting.

This is a really shitty photo, but I just wanted you all to know what a provincial, makeshift lighthouse looks like on a dreary day:

It's got iron rods as steps, and the "hole" to the viewing deck seems punched out with a sledgehammer.

=D

^ you sure that's a lighthouse?

looks more like a navigation beacon to me. i.e. one that flashes red or green at the entrance to a harbour, for example. :)

(fwiw i still think it should be allowed, i'm just sayin')

Well they call it a faro, which means lighthouse.

It doesn't even flash red or green... it looks more like a lamp post covered in cement.

^ cool. :)

i forgot to say - look what we have about 15 miles up the coast from here:

one thing we are not short of in scotland is lighthouses. :)

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post side-topic photos here, but taking my cue from felix...

Faros aren't a type of lighthouse... they're just any sort of lighthouse really. :)

Ex:

That there behind my bf is a faro (yes he is wearing pants made of flour sacks and hotel bedroom slippers)

And this is inside

So it need not be simple and look like a large lamp post to be one. That's all! =D
