IAMTHOUGHTS: by your own definition, "A pet or companion animal is an animal that is kept by humans for companionship and enjoyment, rather than for economic reasons.". That killer whale is undeniably kept for economic reasons, hence does not qualify as a pet.

thujone: your photo does not adhere to the theme either. I really, really wanted to include yours, but rules are rules. Sorry.

Don't feel too down, guys, I had to exclude myself too, as I realised I'd posted my photo previously (I'm really starting to dislike that rule... grrr LOL). You can see my "supposed to be" entry in the misfits thread.

atlas, I absolutely love that photo.

So many others stand out as well, but in the end ArmorRoark's stood out to me the most.

A little background info on the kitty: It was the smallest kitten I have ever seen.. very loving, cuddled all the time. And seemingly needy.. It was sad. Always miewing, very tired. . it was treated like a prince, but wouldn't gain weight and looked very malnourished. There was something wrong.

This (and the rest of the shots) was taken two days before the kitten was put down; It tested positive for FIV, the feline equivalent to HIV.

When I look back on this photograph, it really does bring tears to my eyes.. you can tell. Just looking into his stare, it seemed so hollow. The pictures mean a lot to me.
