Bluelight weekly photography contest Round 189 : Abandoned Buildings

One thing for sure is I wasnt sticking my fingers in there to find out :D

Does the little balls of sand not count as the 'abandoned buildings' aspect ?
 
Can we enter B&W photos? I normally take color and B&W pics of the subject with my camera, and have one of each with the picture I'd like to enter. The B&W was NOT done in PS by grey-scaling, I promise.

very nice. I always look at my photography in BW…helps me get a sense of balance…without being distracted by color. also call me crazy but viewing your photos upside down reveals a ton about the pic…exp photos of people. I love pix of dwellings...they are the silent observer of our lives and if you look close enough there are always clues to the untold story...

Yes you certainly can! But only if the B&W setting was on the camera and not on the software used to upload or edit the photos. As stated in the contest rules, the only computer editing allowed is cropping and resizing :)


Oh and renton and kate, your photos are too big! Can you maybe resize them and repost? Thank you :) <3
 
Awesome.... then here is mine. xD

I usually take pictures in a series of 4-6. 2-3 in BW, 2-3 in color. That way if one or two aren't good, there usually is a few that are.
It does look better cleaned up in CS3 though. The light was bad, so it screwed up the levels and made the shadows too dark (IMHO). I only had my small Canon A540 instead of my Canon 30D DSLR as well. But I got this one BW that I think is worthy, so I give you........

An old rural church near my parents farm. It's been abandoned for about 20 years.
 
I always thought a coffee table "Book" of old run down churches would be interesting...interior as well as exterior. This would be a great addition.
 
I snapped this photo about a week ago for the contest. It's a little blurry cose I have no tripod and shakey hands Micheal J Fox styles.

I submitted it yesterday (24th) but Cletus deleted it?? without giving a reason ... ?

^Your entry was not deleted, it was resized along with a few others in the competition. I can still see yours clear as day, but now you have deleted your post.

There were 3 photographs out with the required size & yours was one of them. If anyone is not happy about me resizing others photos to allow entry then fucking sue me, cos I'm not banning 3 entrants! grumf grumf grumf!

Round closed & poll coming very shortly.

8ft, maybe the link just didn't show up after cletus had resized and reposted it? It happens sometimes. We don't just flippantly delete things ya know ;)
 
Apologies, I really should have pm'd the 'guilty' parties behind the size crimes, but it was late & I was the one doing the poll this morning & had every intention of submitting each & every one of the entrants photos.

8ft, the poll is now up & running so can you see it there?
