Bluelight weekly photography contest Round 17: Shadows

Shitty photoshop job there:

Adobe Photoshop CS Macintosh.2006:06:30 00:31:04

Your shadows are 100% opacity, and so is your background. The styling on the fork shows its cutouts that have been redone with layer styling, etc.

Anyways, its not a real photo, its a photoshop job, and its old.

Pretty strong accusation there man...........can you prove it?

Alpha??

Does this count?

Btw. Moon, shadow, couple of hours ago, hint hint for anyone who's made a pic of that.

Look at the hex information on the file. Its old, and I've been doing photoshop for years for graphic / web design, and its pretty simple to realize what he did.

I think AcID's is quite possible without photoshop. You can see the shaddows of the forks in the metal reflection. That would be one hell of a photoshop job.

Im wondering though, why I can see concrete flooring in the reflection, but NOT the background.

Interested in how this image was done!

Just because it said it was made with photoshop doesn't mean its actually been "photoshopped". Anyone who uses photoshop to resize my images to the contest size will have a file that is recorded as being created in photoshop.

The other stuff though, i don't know...

do silouettes count as shadows?
dreamgirlie, I answered your question in the previous thread. No, silhouettes do not count as shadows.

Blowmonkey, I'm having trouble fitting your entry into the current theme. The theme is "Shadows" and I can't see a single one in your photo.

Thanks

:)

Technically it's cast in shadow. ;) But you answered my and dg's question already, pity though.

These are the remnants of massive stone castles built when aliens first came to earth back in the middle ages.

The area is known as The Lost City.......NSW Australia.

The file creation data in the hex code showed it was made well into LAST year. Ofcourse people use photoshop to resize, but the fact that hes got opaque solid whites and black colors. Not to mention, satins and contours that are easily done in photoshop. If I wanted to spend time arguing a point, I'd make sure I was correct, and I am. You shouldn't argue over the what-if's, because the truth is, he did it in photoshop.

If he had actually taken the photo using a proper background setup with a good camera, the shadow wouldn't be 100% black, there would be noticable fading. Not to mention, the forks wouldn't appear as they are with definitive lines all matching every other fork with similiar overlaying satin features on each fork.

I dont want to make more trouble. but Alpha was accused of photoshoping in round 16 also, and never commented on the accusations...

It doesn't matter that the phot was taken last year, there is no requirement.

Secondly, it's clearly obvious (in my opinion) that the surface where the forks are standing have been painted to look like shadows, when the actual shadow is on the forks themselves.

Thirdly, ACid is a she.

No need to get upset guy. All I was saying was that the fact that it was created with photoshop in itself is no reason to believe that a photo was significantly manipulated with photoshop (as opposed to being cropped and/or resized).

Thats why at the end of the post i said:

"The other stuff though, i don't know..."

Because i didn't know [how to explain] the other stuff [indications of photoshop manipulation].

Sorry for the miscommunication.:)

Heh, sorry about coming off strong. I'm kinda high on speed and kinda tense cause I ran out of cigarettes, :(

Speed without cigarettes is like the world without colors... it just fucking sucks.

Sorry Darkcode but I really think your being unfair...........are you saying it would be impossible to take that photo with a camera?

Oh and the forks are not all the same so thats one of your arguments gone already.

^ Hey, man, maybe you should lay off the speed when you're using your computer. Or vice versa. You're really coming across as a jerk with these personal attacks. Chill.
