Survival's got my vote... I'm impressed by the way he was able to capture not only the image of a shadow but the very essence of shadow in his, even with the strong presence of sunlight at his back

Dude. Unless I'm missing something here, I'm guessing it was the sunlight behind him that caused the shadow.

well yes, but I meant the overall darkness of the photo given how sunny it was. By essence of shadow I meant this mysterious darkness; a definition that comes to my mind when I hear the word "shadow" used out of any clear context. The visual shadow is inconsequential, what is important is how the image creates a natural camera obscura from some sort of underground tunnel, and that's pretty cool.
