RULES
1. Any photograph or variation of a photograph which have been previously submitted in the forums or gallery for viewing and discussion cannot be used in the contest.

2. Photographs must be your original work and that has never been copyrighted or, if copyrighted, that you are the sole copyright owner of.
2a. No submitting pictures for other people, for friends, etc. Your OWN work, very simple.

3. Only one photograph may be entered per contest.

4. All photographs must be free of watermarks, signatures and borders

5. Photographs must be no wider than 700 and no higher than 700.

6. Deadline for entries is 12am eastern on the posted deadline date.

7. Voting ends at 12am eastern on the posted end date.

8. Post your images in the appropriate thread in the form of an image, not a link to click on.

9. Don't be a dummy and vote for your own photo, try and make it fun.

Be reminded that this is a photo contest and so images which have been heavily manipulated through an image editing software will not be accepted.

Images which are not relevant to the week's theme will be automatically removed.

Note: chrissie will be helping me keep this on track. I will pick the next theme and post it the night a contest ends for the next round so people have a full 8 days of time to take pictures and submit them. Voting will take place from midnight to midnight over 2 days (i.e 12am Friday - 12am midnight sunday). After all the entries have been posted, a poll will be added the last night so people can vote.

Just like last round, submit your photos in this thread and a mod will re-post them when voting starts in a separate voting thread.

Submissions: November 29 - December 6
Voting: December 7 - 8

Good luck :)

Also, someone asked me about minimum "lengths" to be considered for long exposure. There is no set limit, but I would imagine anything over 2-3 seconds would be considered long as most shots are taken within fractions of a second.

It rained like a bitch that day, when I took the photo. It wasn't neat, when I had to constantly wipe the lens of my camera with cloth, to get the water drops off. I was soaking wet after I came back home from that trip. :D

P.S. Glad to be the first contestant - again! :D

This was taken in my front yard during a lunar eclipse. I'd been taking pictures of the moon and then took this one for fun. I used a 20 second exposure and jumped in the frame for a few seconds to give it that ghostly look.

My home is coming up to its century year and they always said that it was haunted. I have heard him a few times and finally I caught him on film.........

If your camera has a night scenery option/mode I bet it will have at least an 8-second shutter. :)

^that's right. I'm still pathetically using my mobile phone camera.:p

I know you want to get a N73 or a N93 with the 3.1 megapixel cameras equipped nicely with the carl zeiss lens - this just gives you a reason! :)

Nokia FTW

For long exposure shots, a tripod plus the self-timer button are your friends:

NOT just for home porn, although they are awesome for that too. :)

P.S. No, that's not my entry. :p

It isn't quite neat to carry a tripod with you when you are photographing out there. I mean, when I'm taking photos in the town, it's not too handy to start setting up a tripod in the middle of a crowded street. :D

I walk around with a tripod all the time. But luckily my trousers keep things covered or I would get arrested. :p
