why does all the single guys have to live in another state?
maybe half my prob is im picky.. there is one or two things Im not prepared to compromise on. for instance I dont smoke and certainly dont want a guy who does either. alot of guys seem to like one when they pop but in my book thats still being a smoker. Ya no how hard it is in this city it is to find anohter non smoker? who enjoys going out to the clubs pops/drinks wotever but dont smoke? yes there are guys out there like me but they are few..

in my eyes women can be to picky
they are to busy searching for this perfect man, who they think exists due to the fact they are brainwashed by womens magazines and tv shows!
open up your eyes and drop your standards, just because some guy doesnt fit your checklist down to every last point, it doesnt mean that that person isnt someone that you can get involved with, and maybe get into a long term relationship with.
dont take this as a personnal attack on women, because i am sure men do it to, but in my view women are always looking past the people that they should be getting to know, and reaching for some perfect male adonis, that just doesnt exist

is it too much to ask someone to quit their discusting habit? Im sorry but its not something I can live with or put up with. ya no smokers breath stinks and is honestly yucky.
 
I disagree doon. I think people should keep to whatever standards they want. Its only themselves theyre inconveniencing if they are too high. But from the other side of the coin, I know my standards are way to high but imnot about to settle for something less than what i want just because I cant have that.

I don't think women's standards are too high. I think too many people settle for second best. And besides, everyone has different ideas on what perfection is, and that doesn't necessarily mean a perfect person. If someone truly loves you they love you for your weaknesses as much as they love you for your strengths.
Stick around long enough and you'll be someone's perfection.

sydkiwi: If all you're looking for is a guy who doesn't smoke, and you can't find him, you're not looking hard at all... Just about none of my close friends smoke... The fact that most of are taken won't help you, but the fact remains, there's a lot of us out there...
Standards aren't a problem if you keep two things in mind...
1) Not all our standards are realistic, perfection is unattainable...
2) Compromise is extremely important to a relationship, you can't always have what you want...

I think the next installment of this thread should be called "please post in this thread couples and rub it in our faces" since there are more people from the couples thread posting in here than there are single people.
