That said I have had a rather peculiar several months .No drugs ,no going out and no women... Pretty much concentrating on work ,saving money , doing all the things that I've put off for too damn long,downloading porno and music from the internet and going to the gym so i'll be funky fresh for summer...
Well im back in the swing of things(pun intended) and I even have the *option* of a girlfriend in about 3 months time when a girl I've been seeing for a year or so will be moving to sydney .She is something special and I would be an idiot to pass up this girl .But with 3 months of summer alot can change and im in my element during the silly season .ahh whatever happens,happens .
I don't know its just good to be back...

Not being a male i can't answer on behalf of the male population, but i can give you my personal experiences...
I've had friends that are male, and purely friends. These are people with whom i have never thought of sleeping, and there never have been moves made by either party. I think it's possible to have a male friend without the sexual tension, but i am not sure how frequently it occurs...
 
I'm a male. I have heaps of friends who are girls. I'm also single and there isn't even in the slight bit of sexual tension. You see I'm so far out there that most people consider me to be androgoneous, or however it's spelt. I think most people think that if you pull down my pants I'm as smooth as a ken doll.
Which I think is good since it means that everyone can just be themselve around me and we just have fun together without having to think maybe he's coming on to me.
 
I think there is some truth to it, but i dont think that its a be or or end all. I also dont think that minor sexual thoughts would get in the way of a friendship.
 
I like to think I can be "just friends" with a guy but in general...there's always the odd naughty thought floating around.
The guys I am friends with that I'm not attracted to...I don't find I have as close friendships with them... a little sexual chemistry, be it flirting or u r just physically attracted to the person, I think brings you closer to a person.
