Im assuming the site is hosted in Russia by the .ru so practically rules out law enforcement gaining access to data. Im assuming from certain posts that mods have access to our IP addresses and personal details?

Ive noticed a few posts when mods and members tell people not to incriminate themselves, I fairly certain that law enforcement browse these forums, but to what extent Im not sure, no members seem to have any details that could lead the police to their home and posts seem to be very broad in the description of the area people live in.

so my question is....how safe are we?

Didn't an Australian BL meet up get busted up once by the cops? I don't think I was around when that happened, it may have been last year.

Staff members can access your IP, but it's only for comparison to other accounts to eliminate problem users. If I remember correctly, only Senior Mods and Administrators can do IP checks.

Im asking more along the lines of how safe is the bluelight site, what measures are in place to protect our identities?

^Fairly secure I imagine... I don't really know what the security for the BL server is like. An administrator might be able to chime in with some information on that.

And I think the server is hosted in the Netherlands?

According to the Bluelight Wiki, Bluelight uses three UNIX servers, hosted in Amsterdam, the Netherlands...Not sure it's actually hosted in Russia although that is the correct internet code.

Same goes for Pillreports.com.

The "NO SOURCES, NO PRICES, NO DEALING" rules are there to protect us all from unwanted attention.

nothing is 100% safe im sure if someone wanted to and spent anough time and had the smarts and experience IPs and emails and all that could be extracted

what if the nederlands government agreed to some big operation

PillReports and Bluelight are hosted on the same server in Rotterdam. Very secure. Nothing to worry about.

The only risk comes from you getting off your face and rambling about your massive stash and revealing personal information.

Im not insecure because I dont really do anything that would warrant the police spending big $$$$$ trying to find out who I am. Its just something that ive been meaning to ask for a while as this is a fairly open discussion on the consumption of illegal substances and not just in the Aus section, but in the EU and US sections as well, I do notice the Aus section is controlled a lot more than the other sections though, is that because we Aussies are more paranoid or are we at greater risk?

This. The AFP have made no secret about their widespread presence on social networking websites (and of course drug forums).

Loose lips sink ships ;)

AFAIK - AusDD is a little more strict than most because in the early 2000's cops busted a few? BL meetups around Aus. AusDD is also a lot more in the highlight than other BL subforums. We aussies love our drugs, thats for sure ;)

You would have to be naive to think that you're ever safe or secure. If you don't want something known, don't say it, simple as that. (And that goes for real life too). It amazes me how open some people are online.

the feds and police do not bother reading this forum on any regular basis unless they have information on a case why would they bother same as when people need encryption over msn/yahoo no one is watching unless you are suspected of running half a million pills around the world
i assume the media watch this forum site more than cops
