I loved felix's photo theme suggestion so much that I just *had* to port it over to the digital channel. :)

Create a Cool Wallpaper

RULES

1. Any work of art or variation thereof which has been previously submitted for one of the contest rounds cannot be used in subsequent rounds of the contest.

2. Works must be your original work and ones that have never been copyrighted or, if copyrighted, that you are the sole copyright owner of.
2a. No submitting works for other people, for friends, etc. Your OWN work, very simple.

3. Only one work may be entered per contest.

4. All entries must be free of watermarks, signatures and borders

5. Entries must be no wider than 700 and no higher than 700. (to make the larger resolutions available for public consumption/appreciation, please simply add a link)

6. Photoshop use is allowed and encouraged!

7. Please include the original dimensions of your work, the mediums used, and any other info you feel is relevant. (your piece's pertinence to the theme is optional)

8. Deadline for entries is 12am eastern on the posted deadline date.

9. Voting ends at 12am eastern on the posted end date.

10. Post your entries in the appropriate thread in the form of an image, not a link to click on.

11. Don't be a dummy and vote for your own work, try and make it fun.

If you have a problem with another contestant's entry adhering to the contest guidelines, please PM the forum moderators. Do not try to begin a debate about the issue within the contest submission or poll thread! There will be zero tolerance towards any attempts to devolve a contest thread into a bash-fest or witch hunt.

We will pick the next theme and post it the night a contest ends for the next round so people have a full 14 days to produce something and submit it. After all the entries have been posted, a poll will be added on the last night, so people can vote. Voting will take place from midnight to midnight over the following 3 days (12am Sunday - 12am Wednesday).

Those who wish to participate in sharing larger images of their works (for desktop wallpaper use, for instance) may do so by providing a link only to the full sized version in the same post as their entry.

Thank you and have fun!

^ sis4nh, thanks very much for participating. This is a Digital Art contest, however. We will be having a "Fog or Ice" round in our weekly photography contest, beginning on Sunday, January 27 . I believe your entry would fit there very well. :)

oo sorry i missed the 1st two contests..

here's a wallpaper i made a few years back which was my main wallpaper for a long time. made it using the chrome filter on copies of the same base image and using different settings and effects on the images before and after to get different layers of texture to make it seem more like water. kinda hard to appreciate unless at full size since there is lots of detail

^ omg. I have a VERY similiar design I made for a class assignment last semester. hehe I will try to post it just to compare :D

I'm gonna start my "seamless tiles background" machine back up and I'll crank a few out for this.

When I was working at the newspaper I used to sit and make tiled background images when I was bored and had nothing else to do.

I discovered pretty quick that, if I did them right, I could make them stereoscopic... meaning you cross your eyes a little and you'd have a 3-D background.

I'll get to work on this over the next few days.

Whee!!

lol i started out aimlessly drawing green dots on a white background and ended up with this:

i tried uploading the 1680x1050 version but imageshack couldn't take my big, hard, throbbing jpg

^ LOL

This is a photoshop of a photograph I took while walking to class one day. I love with the sunlight refracts off of clouds like that.
