i really like the color palette you've chosen caroline, and the eye in the lower leftish center of the painting. awesome :)

I find this topic strange. My teacher told me that i have a real good eye for colour and it's good that i'm not scared to use it as so many artists are. An artist being scared to use colour is like an oxymoron to me :\

fear means you FEEL something about it.

those who arent artistically inclined generally just dont give a fuck; apathy.

you may feel scared now, but just delve in! fear can turn to passion really fast!

What do you mean? I'm not saying i'm gifted if it sounded like i was? I'm still a new learner. Have only recently started doing art via uni. Before that all i ever did was highschool. Art to me i guess is just full of life and colour so i found it interesting that my art teacher told me that most artists are scared to use it while i thrive on bright colours and jump straight in.

but i'm not scared about colour. I Do delve into it =D

Somehow i think i may have misunderstood you though?
 
i can understand this doof, while im not scared of color im apoplectic in regaurds to it. Its intensity it breath of use all things make it seem daunting. I was always a black and white sketcher and never really beyond the basic color wheel delved into the hidden recesses of color. Which is weird because i am all about the psychology of things and color plays an important roll.

perhaps my next submission will be of color.

although its an impressive work of art, dont get me wrong, but i feel it needs a little explanation

and for blissfull - one of the great things about art is ones ability to derive whatever the heck meaning one wants.

back in 97 i did a tafe course (certificate II in drawing fundamentals) and had no problem with anything bar colours. the colour wheel is all good but once i dwelved into semi serious colour theory, it did my head in.

holy shit that was 10 years ago.... i only just realised.

That is gorrrrrrgeous! I would love something like that on canvas on my wall, its beautiful. Imho, you most certainly do have talent. :)

god, i envy all you people with artistic talent! I have zilch! :( :P
