Curious who here has tried these? I have experience with Psilocybe cyanescens and those were very unique compared to traditional cubensis. But Blue Meanies were even moreso and rewrote my theory on mushrooms.

That theory has always been, increased oxidation leads to increased unwanted side effects. The bluer your mushrooms, the more chaotic the experience. Cubensis seem to follow that rule for me, lighter less blue cubes often feel better on my system. These flipped that loose theory right on its head.

Despite being blue as ink, they were very calm and easy to navigate. Very visual too. Maybe moreso than any species I’ve tried before. It’s making me want to try higher, beyond micro, doses of Panaeolus cinctulus for comparison.

Would love to hear others experiences with this species in particular!

I love them..by far my favorite! They have no body load like Cubensis strain and I agree with what I have read on the shroomery, that this is what lsd wishes it could do.

Pure magic like the 1st time but best of all is clear headed and spectacular visuals ✨️

I acquired a gram a while back and I ended up chickening out and threw it away. If I can find the time I'd love to eat a few grams of Golden Teachers or something soft like that, maybe this end of this year or next Spring.

I started out with .7 dry and worked my way up gradually but a gram gave me the utmost beautiful visuals.

I see amazing hallucinations on lots of LSD or even PE or any cubensis/mushroom strain..but not crisp beautiful ones that glow/shimmer like with what I get after eating blue meanies.

I used to eat them directly off of cow shit back in hawaii when I was growing up. We would go trespass on kualoah ranch (where jurassic park was filmed).

We always actually preferred cubensis when were living there. They were thought to be crazier and more potent, but I think it's because in hawaii they were more exotic. I also thought they were mellower than cubes but back then we weren't really weighing the pan cyans. Would just eat small handfuls.

I use to do this with Cubensis in Houston Texas cow pastures. Then I met a farmer that would let me search. I think I may have posted this before. I would carry around a dog leash. If/when someone spots me on their property I could say I am so sorry I let me dog off the leash and he took off. However never had to do that, some pastures are huge and after a rain you could find a lot on the edge of the properties and not have to trespass much at all. It usually took all of 10 minutes to collect many.

One time I picked one where the cap was as big as my hand. 3/4 of the way through eating it raw I was floored. 15 minutes, thought I died. So so strong.

I would love to personally experience the difference in mushrooms. I have only had cubensis and azurescens. The Azurescens were for sure stronger and a little different from Cubensis. They had a cold northern feel. Much different personality. I would love to have them again.

I understand Psilocybe cyanescens are very potent too. Someday maybe I would love to come across them. With legalization I imagine it will be as interesting as cannabis when mushroom strains are released. I would love to ask John Hopkins where they get their psilocybin.

Good to see you G-Chem, I hope life is treating you well.

The new interesting mushies to me are psilocybe natalensis. They're a cousin of cubensis originating from south africa. A friend grew some last year and I have a bunch that I've microdosed on a few times. These microdose experiences have been some of the most notably potent and pleasant mushroom experiences I've had in quite some time.

Thinking I might grow some of my own soon.

Yeah that is iteresting. I am sure you have heard him talk, Paul Stamets talks of new species all the time. (and that guy can TALK) And I bet they are all a little different.

I have said that to myself for years. Never did. I know people that have. I bet half the people reading this have. :) Eh, again with legalization it won't be an issue for people.

Just ordered a bunch of exoitic spore cultures - azures, cyans, mexicanas, and natals

did not know you were skilled in that area. I've heard the azures and pan cyans are difficult. Not sure about mexicanas or natals (i think they similar to cubes so I expect in future we might actually see a lot of them)

Don't azurecens grow on wood chips or something? It will be interesting to see what happens when they are grown at home. I heard they are hard too. They guy that sent them to me picked them fresh on the beach in grass in Oregon. Great gift, then he died. Sort of a parting gift and made the trip even more special. I hear Cubensis is not too difficult. I got lazy with that.

They do. I also used to eat them right out of the ground when I lived in oregon. Certain times of the year around certain beach dunes (astoria where goonies was filmed!), you can pick azzies by the bucket. I ate 2 small azzies and couldn't see straight! Again, I ate them because even though I was an adult at this point, the worry was you'd get busted coming back to the car. Turns out just cuz they're natural does not mean they're legal and theres a few stories of hippies doing real time because they got caught foraging.
