Hi Bluelight,

So, recently, i have been thinking about infusing plants/psychedelics into wine, and decided to start small. However, it was definitely a success. I'll skip the background info on me, but basically i'm a daily weed smoker and alcohol drinker, experienced with mind altering substances.

It started a few days ago when i purchased a bottle of cheap white wine ("barefoot" pinot grigio). I also purchased dried lavender and dried peppermint from my local herbalist, and 1 gram of 25:1 blue lotus extract from an online supplier.

First, I drank about a glass of the wine from the bottle to make room for the herbs.

I infused about 1/4-1/3 of an oz of lavender in the wine for 3 nights in the fridge, and added about the same amount of peppermint for 2 nights in the fridge.

The wine tasted really good with the lavender and mint flavors, and had taken on a red-purple color from the lavender.

I then filtered the wine with a mesh coffee filter, and then added the 1g of blue lotus extract, which made the wine a brown-red color (the extract was a brown powder). I shook the wine until the extract fully dissolved and stored it in the fridge.

Ok, so on to the experience:
Monday after work, I came home, and my fiancee was stressed out about school (she's done but they haven't posted the grades yet, and she was worried about that, and also worried about our wedding stuff that we're organizing). Her stressing made me stressed, which was annoying.

I decided that the wine would help us relax a bit, given that its got blue lotus, lavender, and peppermint in it.

We smoked a bowl, and each took a small amount of kava kava pills (3, when the bottle says to take 2-4, and I usually take like 8 to feel anything).

Then we had a glass of the wine each (theres about 4 total glasses of wine in the batch). It was really good, and within about 20 minutes I could feel something that was an interesting synergy with the weed and kava. My muscles relaxed and I felt much calmer, and somewhat hypnotic, with a euphoria that was distinctly from the wine, and not from the alcohol, weed, or kava. This was after dinner, around 8 or so.

We went out to a club and listened to some amazing techno (Pezzner, and Matias Aguayo, who was awesome). Normally, I'd be dancing, but i felt so relaxed and happy, so we sat and watched the djs from a upper vantage point. I smoked a bowl and had some more drinks during the night, but that hypnotic euphoria stayed on throughout, probably for like 4 hours (we left after midnight). I found myself laughing and smiling a lot more than usually do, especially considering I didn't drink as much as I usually do when clubbing.

I definitely recommend this wine to people who are curious about herbs/plants/blue lotus. It had a great synergy with weed and alcohol, and I think i will definitely be making more batches of similar wine in the future.
I really like the lavender/peppermint combo too, and i think it'd be good on its own, without the blue lotus. They're both calming and good at relaxing the body and helping digestion.

I think next up might be lavender/peppermint/HBWR

Followup: Dreaming

So, i finished the bottle last night, and both nights that i drank the wine i had very vivid/somewhat lucid epic dreams, that seemed to go on forever.

I often have epic dreams, but these were very lucid, and I can remember more of it than I usually do the next days. Also, i fairly rarely dream two nights in a row.

This herbal wine might be good for people who are trying to have lucid/vivid dreaming experiences.

Edit: also, edited above for changes in peppermint/lavender dosage. I looked today and realized I used less than i thought.

Thanks for that. It sounds like a very pleasant way to imbibe Blue Lotus. You must have hit the sweet spot with regards to drowsy euphoria, and not been too sleepy to enjoy a night out.
I heard a track by Pezzner a few months back but I thought it was spelt with one 'z' so I couldn't find it. Tasty vibes. Now I can look it out. Cheers!

Sounds like a good combination (wine + kava + lotus). I know they say that lavender is a mild sedative, yet I have to disagree. It really is not. Neither is peppermint, though peppermint is good for digestion.

^ yeah, lavender and peppermint aren't sedating to me, but they are definitely calming. They help digestion, relax smooth muscle, and they're also both antiseptic.
