So last night I smoked pot a couple of times then towards the end of the night I smoked dmt 3 times over the course of 3 hrs. This morning I woke up to find blood in my mucus when I went to blow my nose. I don't think my nose was ever bleeding because there was no blood on me or my sheets/pillow. I'm just trying to figure out why this happened and if I should be concerned. I'm not going to be smoking again for a while, but I would still like to figure out why this happened. My current theory is that it somehow resulted from my throat/sinuses being extra dried out from all the smoking and particularly the dmt. I hadn't smoked anything in about a week until last night. Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated.

DMT is a serotonin receptor agonist. Some serotonin receptors (namely 5-HT2a) help in regulate your blood pressure. Nasal bleeding may have occured because of a BP increase and not something directly physical DMT may have caused.

Better check your BP regularly or just after the trip.

I am am not a medical doctor, so take this with caution!

ive had the same problem before too but never thought anything of it i wouldnt really make a big deal out of it unless is reoccurring

op, your original theory sounds rather sound :)
i get some bloody mucus every once in a while if i am simply having a cold, and i dont have either high bp or any other conditions. im also a nonsmoker, and dont snort anything.
sometimes the mucosa up there can get inflamed and bleed a little bit, especially if you are in a smoky environment, or with harsh chemicals in it, or jsut been blowing your nose for a while.

like said, if it doesnt occur too often, no need to worry

I'd look into getting a nose-transplant, a higher efficiency model should be able to handle more dmt. ;)

:-) like said above, you're gonna be fine...just pay attention, if it happens again, then I would investigate more thuroughly. Sometimes a bloody nose is the bodies way of saying "I enjoyed traveling hyper-space last night. Take this red water as a token of my appreciation. I will have my my fine servant cells bring it out of the nasal passage for ya."

This makes the most sense to me.
