Blood appearing from my throat when i wake up.

Hey

I have been having blood appear in my throat usually when waking up. It has been happening on and off. Cant recreate it when brushing teeth. My throat feels quite raw.

Done a covid test. No results. Been given some antibiotics from the doctor, maybe he thinks i have a throat infection. The blood isnt alot but enough to worry me .

The shitshow that happened leading up to that was dumb. Tested postitive for covid then soing further tests they were negative had to do a pcr test and it was negative.

They gave me some antibiotics last week in which i was allergic to so only just got the correct ones.

The bleeding seems intermittent but happens usually after i have been asleep.

I am a smoker but it feels like it may be coming from somewhere else.

Do i take my antibiotics and if i dont get better ring back the doctors?

Woke up tonight bleeding again. wasnt a huge amount but seems like its coming fr back of the throat.

Doctor didnt seem alarmed. He was morw interested in making sure i had my covid vaccine :/

As for the blood i dunno id stop smoking and use patches until it stopped though maybe try get your GP to refer you to a throat specialist or something. Have you gotten anyone to have a look down there with a torch?

Feeling pretty weak today. Gonna quit smoking from now. Been stupidly hitting the weed and smoking seems to make it worse or at least its appearing more when i been smoking alot..

5 day course of antibiotics gonna give them a go jus so i can tell the doctor it didnt help (i have no hope)

Did your friend get to the bottom of his bleeding? Hope he is feeling better.

i feel like a small amount of blood loss over time eventually = a large amount of blood lost and thus a worry so you're right to go to the doctor. just give the antibiotics a try and at least then they can't fob you off with the same if it doesn't work.

def quit smoking, even if its not the cause it does so much other damage.

i have smoked a lot of shite in my life and never got anything like this, even when i was routinely smoking at least an 8th of crack a day. sounds fucking scary.

I used to cough up a little blood in the morning. I’ve had this happen several times. It’s always been thoroughly investigated and a cause never found. The last throat specialist I saw thought that it was from blood vessels that easily rupture when irritated, probably from a bad coughing episode in the past. It’s not happened again since I swapped smoking for vaping. I vape all my weed too. Takes some getting used to at first but it’s so much better.

Its everytime i wake up it happens :/ throat is feeling raw from smoking weed (smoking an half oz a week at least)

Going to quit today. This is my last joint. Taking these big fuck off antibiotics that say there is more side effects than taking a dose of mdma ffs!

Its definitley getting worse. But only seems to happen when i first wake up . It began feeling like it was getting better. Im not sure if its an ulcer in the stomach but it looks fresh just unsure how its going.

Man im not looking forward to taking these horse tablets. 1 gram of this shit a day.

Eating something to hope it doesnt attack my stomach to much. Apperently these are used for a special type of ulcer or something. My stomach is hurting but i thought maybe its ibs as the cramps were getting out of this world.

Maybe im dying. If i dont report back i dropped dead from something serious. Bled three times today. Moral of the story. Dont fall asleep lol!

Quick update. After taking omneprazole 20mg a day and clairomythcin 500mg tablets the bleeding seems to have stopped ? It might be a coincidence but maybe not and it was an ulcer? I know omneprazole with these anti biotics are given for that bacteria that causes ulcers

Yeah that definitely sounds like they're treating you for oesophageal bleeding caused by a peptic ulcer, and that the ulcer has healed. That's great the bleeding has stopped!

Look op idk If its been mentioned but its really bad that blood is appearing in your throat. If it's not cancer then it could be from micro cuts in your throat. This might not seem bad but it can lead to serious bleeding. Get a second opinion next time you go to the doctor and insist they stick a camera down your throat.
