Okay 2 weeks ago I suffered from serious food poisoning. I was using the washroom over 20 times a day with nothing but pure water coming out of my ass. I eventually got better and started to pass solid normal stools however I had a rash and some bleeding coming from the outside of my anus. I didnt think much of it, it was just my ass healing and I thought it would eventually go away. I feel much better now, the itching down there is gone (Im a male btw and Im talking about my ass dont let the name fool you) and most of the burning and whatnot is now gone. However Yesterday I noticed a bit of an oily substance when I wiped, and today there was more of it with blood on the toilet paper. I looked in the toilet and all there was was just a tiny piece of stool with what looked like mucus and blood on it.

Could this just be a healing procedure the body does or should I get checked out tomorrow?

In the past 2 weeks my diet has not been good, its mainly consisted of Pizza (Lots of it) and yesterday night and this afternoon I had really vinegary and spicy wings and thats all that has been in my stomach. Please someone tell me this is most likely nothing to be concerned about and that its just because of a poor diet.

I plan on drinking nothing but water and not eating for a day to sort of detox. Ill have a few pieces of bread as I dont believe in starving myself but thats about it.

Most likely the blood stems from your irritated bum from all those bowel movements. Don't starve yourself, but try healthier foods. Like stuff that isn't greasy or fried and drink lots of water too. You could try soup and crackers, bananas and apples with toast because it's easy on your stomach. You should be ok it's just your digestive system needs to heal.

This is what I thought. I searched online and all these serious symptoms came up which was worrisome.. Problem is, I live alone and as of right now I have no way of getting groceries or proper food. I just moved out and im still getting everything settled which is why instead of eating the junk I have I will stick to water for now. Ill go out tomorrow and get some BRAT diet foods that I had to take when I had the food poisoning. I just cant wait to pass this super spicy chicken wing stool, thats definitely gonna be a shocker. Hoo ray. Thanks for the reply

I have 2 Tylenols here I want to take would it be bad if I did?

Tylenol should be ok because it's not an nsaid that might cause stomach irritation (like ibuprofen or aspirin)
Hope you feel better soon! :)

Thanks man, Im still a youngin who just flew the coop so as sad as it sounds, I sort of miss having the mother around no matter how many times you've called her a bitch lol :\. It can be pretty scary seeing blood in your toilet if you're not a woman.
Thanks for the help cheers.

Forgot to mention, the tylenol contains codeine

Codeine may cause your stool to harden.
The BRAT diet lacks many nutrients, I think you should avoid it. Try eating a variety of whole food instead.
Don't worry about the mucus, it should go away in a week or so.

Excessive mucous in the stool can mean there's a low grade infection happening. If it's fresh blood on the outside of the stool (and not mixed into the stool itself), then the bleeding is rectal. If you're willing to use an enema bulb, it can help a lot.

Wait until after the next bowel movement and flush out your rectum with a solution of 8 ounces (about 250mL) distilled water to 1 level teaspoon uniodized salt and 1 level teaspoon baking soda. Evacuate your bowels with plain water first, then insert the salt solution and hold it for 5 minutes ish, then void. If the water is room temperature or slightly warm it will feel less uncomfortable, but some people don't care.

You can also take siltz baths with epsom salts once a day for about 20 minutes to help sooth it.

Topically, after all the cleaning, you can apply something like polysporin (which I hate, but is commonly available), or if you have access to something herbal, calendula salve is awesome for this kind of thing and will heal that right up. If there's an anal fissure happening then you'll need to be diligent and do this daily after your last bowel movement of the day, if possible. Fissures get re-torn with each bowel movement.

Stop eating shitty food and consume more fiber, and when you have a bowel movement don't strain. Just relax. Any pressure you put on your rectum will tear the fissure open again and you'll have to start over.
