Blogs Guidelines

Hi! Welcome to Bluelight Blogs :)

Creating and commenting on Blogs is limited to Bluelighters. Once you have reached 50 posts, you will have the ability to create your own blog or comment on blogs belonging to other members.

Please read the Blog Guidelines carefully before starting your own Bluelight Blog, or commenting in other Blogs.

The Bluelight User Agreement will be enforced at all times by the Blogs Mods. If the moderators feel something is breaching the guidelines, they will take the appropriate action to resolve the situation.

Blogs are a great place to discuss your thoughts and virtually anything goes as to what you say provided it is not offensive to other Bluelighters or isn't violating the Bluelight user agreement. For example, do not go into your blog naming other Bluelighters specifically by name or situation and calling attention to them in a demeaning way. This creates a lot of board drama and it abuses what Blogs is really about. If you feel you must express yourself in a derogatory manner about another bluelighter then please remember your blog does have a lock feature that will make it private and only you will have access to it.

If you feel the need to discuss another Bluelighter's actions you may not be happy with in your blog (it is your place to vent of course!) and you do not want to lock it then please do not make any reference to them specifically. Blogs does not want any Bluelighters to feel they are being misrepresented by one person's thoughts on them via the Blogs forum.

Comments are most certainly an invaluable source of advice to the blog owner. It's also a great place to get to know your fellow Bluelighters. Remember that we are a Blog Community and it's nice to give comments as well as receive them. We encourage the use of images in Blogs, however please keep them at a reasonable file size.

And although we realize from time to time it may be necessary for you to post multiple entries in your blog please try to limit them to three at a time up on the most current entry page. This isn't twitter

Thank you, we look forward to reading you.

Your Blogs Moderators,

Dave, animal_cookie and spork

(with many thanks to spork & *starfalls69* for a prior draft)

Yay Ocean :) Madame, may I please post a blog entry in your honor? You wrote that we shouldn't name names, but you also know I will say nothing other than you're awesome.

I had forgotten that not everyone has their page set up the same as I (I have 'Recent Blog Posts' minimized so that 'Recent Comments' is at the top right of the page)

The arrow (<--- ) was supposed to point to the Blog Guidelines but after I clicked 'Post Now' I quiickly realized that the arow would get pushed down the 'Recent Comments' box quickly

Oh well. My brain doesn't work sometimes :\

Oh! Did you know that if you click on the title of a Blog entry you have created, you can drag and drop the boxes to the right of your page in whatever order you'd like.

Just hover over the blue section of a box and you will see cross hairs. Simply click and drag!

Useless but neat

Hey everyone, I just figured this would be a great time to start, and I love that I finally signed up on here (after two years of reading the sites blogs) many of your posts were helpful and informative, and some of them just made me better and made me feel like I'm not alone!!! Well I'm gonna start my blog now...
Btw-- wtb = want to be ntb = need to be...

Ditto on the long time reader, new poster. I now find it much easier to get the right answer from asking instead of searching all da blogs!

Who cares if there offensive ..its a blog..u can chose not to read
conversely, people who wish to post 'offensive' content can post it on some other site, not here.
Lurk some more and you'll see that our Guidelines have molded Blogs (and BL in general) into a rather nice community with minimal bullshit and aggravation

Hey, I'm not sure where to go to ask questions, so I'll ask it here and please redirect me if this is not the place. I am trying to delete some of my blog entries and it says I am not authorized to view that page. How do I go about deleting these entries? Thank u!

A forum, blog, facebook wall, twitter, w/e, these are intended for thoughts, opinions, feelings, informations, and a way to express yourself. to those who have found forums and blogs, welcome, you have completely and willingly accessed a world where you can be your honest self, exactly who you are and want to be, where everyone has the freedom to say and speak whats going on. the HUGE benefit, its confidential. So no one can truly judge, be judged, or in anyway offend because an opinion/ feeling/ though can only produce another opinion, feeling, or though, none of which can be judging, or offending, or to be disproved. everyone is different, you take the good and the bad. Forums are similar to a community or people who want to be more understand and accepting of other things, w/e they maybe, whether you agree or not, or how you feel on a matter. if nothing else, nothing else, just take a second look at something, just to say you did, and you may just become aware of other perspective on something, you dont have to agree, or maybe, it may change how you think abut things. Become, aware, understanding, accepting, be real, the real you, be honest and open with others, truth always has the better outcome, even if crazier things are an outcome, everything happens for a reason for someone... <3:D

I've just tested this out on my own blog so this should work for you as well:

  • Mouseover the title of the entry that you want to remove. A little pencil icon will appear to the right of the title. Click that.
  • At the top of the edit post screen there will be a checkbox to delete the entry. Click the box to select that option, then click on the button marked 'Delete' that should now be clickable.

If that doesn't work, just let me know (via PM), and I can go through and unapprove the posts that you don't want seen. They'll still be there, but they won't be visible to the general public.
