The real problem which myself and many other BLers have recently pointed out, is the flood of high grade meth and heroin since the MDMA shortage (which has a lot to do with the current lack of precursors you have brought up).
These drugs are way more addictive and can cause a lot more harm to the user
I have always been an advocate for psychedelic drugs such as mushrooms and LSD but these drugs certainly aren't for everyone.
Alcohol fueled violence, although sensationalized in the media, is currently a real threat to anyone heading out to have a good time (unless you are yourself one of these drunken dickheads that likes to fight).
Gone are the days of walking into a club full of happy people and being hugged by the cute girlfriends of a 6'6 body builders without the slightest threat of having your body pummeled like a rag doll.
If you're lucky, the club you are in will be full of people on mephedrone and other RC's instead of speed freaks and piss heads. This still isn't close to the PLUR felt in clubs from the 90's through to 2006ish
The club scene has lost the love for now. All we can hope for is a return to the glory days but I wouldn't hold your breath.
There is one scene that still has plenty of PLUR and i'm sure some of my fellow hippies would agree
Yes, the Cambodian clean up hurt us Aussies but another massive factor was
this bust which took out the main guys importing pills to our fair land. This is why there wasn't an instant drop in quality pills after 2004, they were being imported from places like Holland.
This could be the way to get safrole in Australia in future. I actually believe this is responsible for the last few batches of damn fine MDMA crystal I have had the pleasure of trying over the past couple of years, other than some Canadian crystal that has been around from time to time.
*edit* I'd say Cinnamomum Camphora is the most likely candidate for distilling safrole.... All you young budding chemists... wink wink, nudge nudge... I'm a deviate LOL :D
There was recently a safrole refining lab bust in Aus which is bad but could be a sign of change
The law makers need to pull their heads out of their asses and face the fact that people will get high on anything that's available, no matter what they try to impose
Shouldn't they be providing the safest drugs possible for this very reason?
Prohibition doesn't work, it only leads to:
*Rich war loads, gangs and mafia families
*Impure drugs
*Dangerous drug taking behaviour
People have been getting high for thousands of years
The first drug law was made in 1914 when the addiction rate was 1% YES 1%
It's a no brainer 8)
