A single tear falls from my eye
As I take a drag from this cigarette
Burning fast, like my fading memory
Of you
Match struck with brilliant fire
Casting bright light over me
Ignited what I need so badly
But like the sun that always rises
Only to give into absence of light
Our simple understanding disappeared
And it became apparent from that point
That a time would come when I would
Have no choice but to snuff you out
And watch as the smoke dissipated
Into the air of reality
Now I'm left here
Empty handed but with stronger spirit
And knowledge that what is right
Will one day prevail
That a day will come when life
Discards you out it's window and
Glances back to see the dying sparks
Of another mistake tossed carelessly away
Blown away out of mind
Blown away out of memory
Blown away
