Just a quick question for anyone that knows the answer. In just about every post that I have read I notice that the desired results for an xtc like substance is dark purple to almost black. I tested a pill a few days ago and within a few seconds the result was black, very black, like black ink. I tested it on a piece of white paper and smeared the results to see if it was at all purple, it wasn't. Any thoughts??????

er i dont know where you got the idea of light black from... what you have described is a classic MDxx reaction... it should go purple then to a very dark black colour, within 10 seconds...
pills should always be tested on a ceramic or porcelain surface and dont pay any attention to what colour paper goes if you wipe it on the liquid, it will always go black as the acid in the tester is eating the paper...
if you have any further doubts please check the videos of reactions at www.eztest.com
