Black circles under the eyes the next day from Opiates?

Have noticed I have been getting these the next day after a moderate to high dose of either oxy or hydromorphone. I do take high doses of codeine frequently and have had histamine reactions sometimes from that but it has never caused any black circles under my eyes so I know it cant be that. Ive tried searching around for it on the net but have not found anything that was a definite cause. Does anyone experience this? Im not talking about bags under the eyes, only black circles like uve been punched in both eyes. Its not very good and would love to know how to prevent this from happening apart from not doing any more.

i used to get that when i smoked huge amounts of pot in hugh school.
no idea what caused it...but i know how it feels when you get to that level of wastedness.
do you remember rubbing your eyes a lot? probably not bruising...but who knows?

you get dehydrated when on opiates. dehydration symptoms (google away if you want) include dark black circles.

^^ its when u caning it too hard.. had off weed when when i was a teen like space junkie said, but got it on regula to madski opi dosi, look like poo word.. best to settle and re group, then get high...lesss..reguLaZ

Hmmm, nothing has ever caused this to happen apart from opiates (harder opiates), even whem I dont sleep for days in a row I never get them. It can happen from a moderate dose for me which was (60mg) and I dont recall rubbing my eyes, usually if I do rub them for whatever reason I still get them which leaves a real mistery as to what actually causes this.

Yeah I do get pretty thirst whilst on opiates but my water intake is very high all throughout the day at work I can say I have at least 5-6 x 600ml waters and another Liter in the gym and prob bout another during the nigh after work. I have roughly about 5-6 Liters a day so Im fairly certain that its not from dehydration. I used to do MDMA and speed all teh time and you know how badly that dehydrates you and again I never got circles under my eyes from any of them either. Its very strange. Wish I knew a way to prevent it as well. Im not using too large doses and definitely wasnt wasted the tiem I got it the next day. Prob bout a 6-7/10 on a high scale. Tolerance is a bitch = less effects, more side effects :((
 
hmm...crazy.
if i were you i'd use a bit of foundation, but i don't know if you'd be averse to using a little make-up. if it causes you enough grief to worry or get self conscious about it? it wouldn't be hard to mask (without looking like you were going glam) ;)

i have been taking codeine every 3-5 days (quite big doses now 600-900 when i can) for about 1.5 years plus and have developed black bags under my eyes.they have always been dark from a iron deficiency but not as dark as they are now.maybe you can try taking some iron tablets?it may help

i've been told by a ex smack head that he had really black bags under his eyes when he was using daily for 15years +
 
I have to admit I was a heavy smak man, and did have some serious black eye holes rockin from time to time, but for the most part gone now, but o noticed pot can enhance the darker shades of me I socket too mun./..if smokin large amoungts

Haha Id consider it if it got a lot worse although applying anything like creams or foundations under ur eyes can and most likely will cause skin irritations because the skin is so soft and thin there, I remember when I had a pimple under my eye once and I put pimple cream on it and when I woke up my eyes were all puffed up and itchy from it.

Yeah I might give that a go although I have been taking an awesome multi vitamin for teh past 2 years consistently so Im not sure bout the iron levels, also had a blood test done few months ago and vitamin levels were fine too so Im not really sure aye.

Did u get them the next day? Still havnt figured out what causes them LOL We are all just speculating, I really wish we could get to the bottom of this :S
 
sust, have you tried searching the opiophile boards?
those cats take a lot of heavy dope - if it's a thing other people experience, i would imagine that it would have been raised there also.
chugs' suggestion about dehydration makes sense to me, but then you say that you drink a shitload of water. does that totally prevent you from suffering dehydration, i wonder? it's an interesting one.
the only other time i distinctly remember seeing somebody with drug-induced dark patches under the eyes (not caused by weed or opiates) was a friend that got rat-arsed drunk at a party when i was in high school. right before he passed out in a pool of his own vomit and spent the rest of the night in a poisoned stupor, he had massive black bags under his eyes that weren't normally there.
i wonder if it is some kind of physical reaction to acute intoxication or something?

you never noticed this before in years of opioid abuse sust?

I dont have the black rings anymore, but they would come up every time i used any kind of opiate, codeine or otherwise. People just knew i was gacked - funnily enough when you're on opiates the only person who cant seem to see them is you.

looking back at photos it looks disgusting, only weed tends to make me get those eye shadows, but with weed i find its more of a reddish colour than the black...

Thanks for ur lengthy response, Ive actually read those threads a few days ago and it still didnt really answer my question as it was all based on speculations. From what im gathering it could be caused by a number of things. Im just wondering if itd be possible to pinpoint the cause. I noticed that even tonight after 70mg of oxy im getting them too about 5 hours after dosing it in smaller increments. And yeah I try to keep well hydrated so im fairly certain its not the cause. Have u ever experienced any of these symptoms at all?

Nahh I never had black rings under my eyes prior to using it and as a matter of fact never got them from any other drugs before. So you got them from codeine as well? Luckily ive never had them from codeine only usually from harder opiates. Have u ever thought about what may cause this to happen? Its really annoying especially the next day LOL sucks when people ask you do u have a black eye?
 
^ if i'm in that opiated twilight waking-dream state, i wake up feeling exhausted.
depends on the circumstances/individual i guess.
 
I find that I have deep restful sleeps on opiates. I wake up feeling refreshed. The black circles seem to ease and get milder by the next day (Thats before going to bed for sleep)
