BL redirecting to Myspace?

I don't get this... I was getting Myspace in place of BL for a few minutes, even getting myspace.com/vb instead of bluelight.ru/vb... I have a screenshot that I can upload if it is necessary, though I'm sure I'm not the only one this just happened to...

Edit- Note the URL in the address bar and the URL displayed towards the right at the top of the webpage... Both are /vb

I think it is much more likely that the redirection came from your computer than from BL. Something like error, mixing up of bookmarks, or malware.

though I'm sure I'm not the only one this just happened to...

Are you saying that because others have mentioned having the same thing happen? If so did it happen during the same time period you had this happen?

^No, I said it because it happened with both bluelight.ru/vb annd just bluelight.ru, the difference being that bluelight.ru/vb went to myspace.com/vb and bluelight.ru went to myspace.com

I have never went to myspace on this (or any) computer... Especially not myspace.com/vb specifically.

It may very well be something on my end... I'm pretty puzzled in all honesty.

If the problem keeps happening the 2nd thread seems to indicate that you might need to do a firmware update on your router if available. Hopefully it was a one time problem and won't come up again. Some redirect problems do come from malware but they usually target heavily trafficked sites like google and facebook.

Did someone else have access to your computer? They may have played a prank on you using your hosts file. Definitely check that for any entries that send 'bluelight.ru' to some random IP.

At my previous job, my bestfriend and I changed the hosts file on a couple of the computers to go to meatspin.com when they tried going to facebook. We warned them about that, but they didn't listen at all. So we had to do what we felt was right. hehe

I never heard so much "OMG WHAT THE FUCK?!?!"

That is one of many reasons why other people using my computer use the gust account. Screwing things up on purpose or by accident often depends on being in an admin account.
