Bluelighter
I would say that most drug forums do more harm than good. Bluelight distinguishes itself from the others because there is a sense of accountability that is defined by the mission statement and enforced by the moderators and veterans. For every one person spouting out foolish advice there are ten to correct him. Nevertheless, there are definitely some harmful aspects of this website. Drug Culture is probably the area were I do the most browsing and despite enjoying the light-hearted discussion that takes place in threads such as "how high are you", I must admit that threads of this nature can be VERY triggering. I have definitely reconsidered drugs that I had previously removed from my life simply because I saw 4 or 5 people basking in its glory and raving about it on the same page. There have been psychological studies which strongly suggest that simple exposure to others who model bad behavior makes that behavior seem more acceptable and "normal" in the subject's eyes.
I doubt that it is possible, however, to avoid these negatives without bluelight losing its diversity and turning into a site like this: www.soberrecovery.com/forums
