Woody Duclos pleaded guilty to slipping pills into customers' food at Burger King on Philips Highway near the Avenues Mall.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A local Burger King employee who pleaded guilty to slipping painkillers into customers' food has been sentenced to five years in prison.

Woody Duclos was initially charged with poisoning food with intent to kill or injure a person. He was facing up to 30 years in prison.

Duclos was arrested in February after one woman got sick from eating a sandwich from Burger King on Philips Highway near the Avenues Mall.

A local man said he found a blue pill in his fish sandwich from Burger King.
Another man said he found a blue pill in his burger at the same restaurant.

Police said the 21-year-old woman spit the pill out when she took a bite of her sandwich, and she ended up having a seizure and had to be taken to a hospital.

Police said the pill was the painkiller hydrocodone.

Duclos and another Burger King employee accused of selling him the pills were each fired.

What? She must've been allergic or on conflicting medications or something?

This guy sounds like a moron any way you look at it. He even left the pills whole.

There was a story a few years ago about a BK employee in Florida who was putting marijuana in the food and it was served to a cop.
 
This story is old. I remember reading it on here when it first happen. SO i guess this is just him getting sentenced now.. Anyways its total BS that this lady had a seizure because she tasted a hydrocodone pill in her burger.. its just some stupid bitch trying to take advantage of the situation and trying to get some money out of it..

Stupid kid though, why would he be putting hydro's in random peoples burgers? maybe thought he was cool or something, who knows.
 
Stupid kid, funny to see the update.... he deserves the arrest and conviction.. person who got the burger w/ the pill in it doesn't deserve anything but a gift certificate to the restaurant.
 
I have to admit that I considered putting some crushed up valium in some asshole police officers coffee that I was making for him. It doesn't tasted that strong, and although not very water soluable it would still get in his system. And it's not the fastest drug to get out of your system, so if he was drug tested withen like 10 days of that then goodbye job!

Or worse, he would love the "coffee" so much that he would keep coming back even more.
 
See that is the frightening aspect of the US. Some kid is just playing around at work, thinking he is going to get someone high (a rather innocent act, if dumb as well), then just like that, is looking at 30 years. Do you really think the person in question was intending on killing someone?
 
^He may very well deserve it. Would he also deserve 30 years if he was convicted at trial?
 
I don't know about 30, but he only got sentenced 5 years. Thirty seems a bit of a stretch, but if people were "injured" it should be taken case by case.

Is there anywhere that says why exactly he did it?

I didn't read it here, but I recall an article about a fastfood worker putting drugs in the sandwich that was intended for his friend or "client" going through the drive-thru. He mis-counted the number of cars in the drive-thru and it ended up going to the wrong person.

Again, I am not sure that this is the same article that I read about a couple of months back.

And I'm still wondering how that lady got a seizure from simply tasting the pill. As someone said she's probably trying to whore any legal money out of the case.
 
If this was ina city center or somewhere that everybody would be on foot, not so bad people get high and stumble around.

But on a highway? what happens when it kicks in at 70 mph...the stupid kid could have killed someone easily. He deserves everything he gets.

I agree that it was stupid to do this, but surely that must be an exaggeration about someone spitting out the pill and going into seizures... makes little sense to me.

but yeah. no wayshe could has a seizure from just tasting it. shit..wouldnt opiates have some anticonvulsant effect because they depress the CNS?
